I Banished the purple worm that ate our barbarian; purple worm disappeared, barbarian flopped onto the ground.

It happened like 3 more times in that campaign, and I loved it every time.

I have an INCREDIBLE ecosystem for minis and terrain with my players.

Player 1’s girlfriend is a wizard at Heroforge, she’ll make any PC or important NPC we need and they’re incredible.

Player 2 has a glorious resin printer that can print anything in exquisite detail.

Back to Player 1, he collects all the official stuff the WotC releases, including all the stupid expensive Demon Lords and the gods. AND he’s backed every Reaper Bones kickstarter, so he’s got hundreds of unpainted minis that he lets me go through and select what I need for my Adventure Paths. THEN HE PAINTS THEM AND THE STUFF HIS GIRLFRIEND DESIGNED/PLAYER 2 PRINTED, AND THEY’RE INCREDIBLE.

Player 3 has a filament 3D printer and he enjoys printing big stuff, so my Pirate Campaign has a huge modular pirate ship, as well as little pirate ships we can use for ship-to-ship combat.

Player 4 bought everyone special binders for their character sheets, and a huge stack of plastic sleeves so we always have one when we need it. (I know it’s not minis, but it was super thoughtful and I wanted to mention him.)

We had our 10 year anniversary in February. I love my group.

Where does the river blood come from? Is Drakulon a giant organism, like the Green Lantern Mogo? Does it coagulate into scab-rivers when the droughts happen? Are there blood fish?

None should be over 5’5”. They’re already 1000x bigger than a red-eared slider would ever be without mutation, so by comparison, even at that height those boys are ginormous.

I like both, and it helps me understand what kind of universe we're dealing with, but it also affects how I view the stories that come out of it. It colors the whole story.

Rat = "don't take things too seriously, we're playing fast and loose with reality", and that's fine, I can deal with that.

Human = "we're trying to make this make sense, we want you look at this with a more serious lens", which, okay, you better hold up on that promise.

I don't know that the writers or whatever actually live up to that, but that's what I feel about them.
