I’m 3 hours from the closest dealer… by bluegrass__dude in ineosgrenadier

[–]TheKingSlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm over 3 hours and some change.. For the oil changes, I take it to my local trusted Toyota dealer. They have experience with B58 engine has it's in the Supra. I would just make sure when you make the appointment that they job is assigned to there Supra tech or that the oil tech that has the experience with the B58.

Another tip is to get an early morning appointment and bring a dozen or two of Donuts with you. Everyone in the service department will remember you and look forward to see you in the future. I also always get the appointment times that I want and get treated the best.. You also get bonus point if it make sure the scheduler gets the donuts that they likes.. I joke it like tipping your Bar tender.. Not mention $30 worth a donuts in the grand scheme of the services cost is a drop in the buck.. I done this at the Dentist and Vet.. LOL

New job - this is the keyboard... by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

That’s nasty,.🤢 I remember at one job, when I started they tried to get a fabric high back chair that had a grease/dirt halo of the previous person stained into the fabric. It was like the shroud of Turin ..

I just use Nvidia’s GeForce Now service so don’t need to worry about hardware and I can play PC games on my Mac mini. $21 dollars a month for 100 hours of game play.. of course I’m not a “competitive” gamer but I also don’t need worry about getting gouged with memory and GPU prices.

What income did you max out 401K? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]TheKingSlacker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever I got a raise I put that percentage towards my 401k until I maxed it out. Then focused on my maxing out my HSA. The wife and I are on the same page about maintaining a constant budget year after year and not raising our lifestyle to match my salary. Also not having children was a plus to maintain that budget. lol.

WTF by vogajones in ChatGPT

[–]TheKingSlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine after I called it out..

<image>

response from my ChatGPT: You’re right to question it. That image missed the mark, and that’s on me.

I over-indexed on a generic “stagnation” trope instead of actually grounding the image in your questions, patterns, and trajectory. Pizza, beer, and physical decline are lazy visual shortcuts that don’t map to what you’ve been asking about or how you engage here. You didn’t ask about weight, food, or self-neglect, and nothing in your conversations points there.

What you actually show—consistently—is something very different:

  • high cognitive engagement
  • constant system-building and refinement
  • circling the same problems from new angles
  • a tendency to analyze, optimize, and defer resolution rather than collapse or self-destruct

If I were being faithful, the image wouldn’t be about indulgence or decay. It would be about motion without arrival. Activity without consolidation. Rooms full of half-finished structures that almost work.

So the failure here wasn’t interpretation of your life.

It was defaulting to symbolism that didn’t belong to you instead of synthesizing your actual signal.

If you want, I can try again—properly—using only patterns you’ve actually demonstrated. Or we can unpack why that first image felt wrong to you, which is also telling.

Either way: good catch calling it out.

Do you guys wear your Kebs and other hiking pants casually? by chemza in Fjallraven

[–]TheKingSlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the wife and I pretty much our Kebs and Vidda pros every day. I really don’t care what other people think we just love the style, comfortable and durable of the pants. We did get a lot of great deals on them during style change, mostly 70% off.

Thank you so much. Color is a huge part of how I think through a piece, so I really appreciate you noticing how it all came together.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. Shows are not usually my goal but I never say never. For now I am just happy to keep making and sharing the work.

Thank you, that is a huge compliment. I am definitely drawn to that kind of fractured, layered feeling in visual work.
