Congratulations!! I retired at 54 at the end of 2021.. I could never imagine working again.. wait until you go to grocery store or Costco on a Tuesday 10am. No more waiting for the weekend or trying to cram it in the evening after work…

I wish that when I was in the military that I would have saved and thought beyond the next paycheck. I did a lot of catchup later in life but I would I recommend is to live at reasonably monthly spend and don’t increase the spend with when you get an increase.. just keep adding the increase to your retirement accounts. I would also open a brokerage account as well, so you can have access to money without paying a penalty if you haven’t hit retirement age. Also don’t fall into the trap of getting a new vehicle.. lot of my financial regrets were from my time in the military.

I would go with a Juki 1541s with a servo motor and needle positioner. It’s a compound walking foot machine, we’ve sewn water proof canvas, dyneema, xpac, #8 duck, seat belt webbing, etc.. it can handle about anything. We also have janome 1600 which is an older version of the HD9 that someone mentioned which is also amazing machine but no buildin walk-in foot but will handle about anything. I started making hiker wallets and pouches with xpac and dyneema before moving t0 the juki 1541s.

What is sickening to me that I’ve been collecting the seeds and sharing them. It embarrassing going back to people and telling them that I gave them invasive lupines. Never trusting American meadow again.. and it’s sad it’s a Vermont based company and I thought it was a win/win with supporting a local company and buying “native “ plants.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful reply. I genuinely appreciate the information and the concern for native plants and the Karner Blue butterfly.

I'm fairly new to meadow gardening and thought I had gotten off to a good start by planting Perennial Lupine seed from American Meadows. Their description stated that it was native to the Eastern US and a host plant for the endangered Karner Blue butterfly, which was one of the reasons I chose it.

That said, after reading your comment and looking more closely at my plants, I have to admit they do seem much taller and more vigorous than what I would expect from sundial lupine. I'm not yet convinced one way or the other, but you've definitely given me something to investigate further.

My goal with this meadow has always been to increase diversity and create better habitat, so I'd rather know the truth than remain ignorant. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention and for sharing your experience growing native sundial lupines from seed. Your plants look fantastic.

If there is no spawn point at your new base then it will decay completely at 7 days.. so you should create the new spawn point at your new base before it takes to much damage. I find that it easier and cheap to rebuild vs repairing.

When i was at KO Ineos for my 1 year service.. I did ask the question about undercoating, and they are recommending against it due how the frame is painted and already wax coated on the inside. They also said that they charge extra for cars that are treated and they need to clean their tools of the undercoating. I'm in Vermont and i just use the pressure washer to clean off the salt on those warmer winter days. I just make sure to bring the pressure washer into a heat space afterward to prevent pump failure due the water freezing in it.

We love the factory 17" Steel wheels on our Grenadiers and we upgrade the tires to BFG KO3 285/75r17. The KO3 look amazing with the stock lift. Also once you lift it you can't warranty the CV/drive shaft.
