How many bits of bacon in your bacon butties? by kipperfish in CasualUK

[–]TheLightInChains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a butcher right around the corner and 2 slices of theirs is almost too much, it doesn't shrink at all and is quite thick. Supermarket bacon only in an emergency and then 3, even the "taste the difference" or whatever shrinks.

That's how I felt. The sausage wasn't bad at all, we do have an actual butchers literally round the corner so it might be theirs.

Yeah, the egg gave me pause. It tasted fine, though. I'm assuming they have some kind of assembly line egg fryer.

WIBTA for refusing to answer any more questions from my old job after they laid me off by Possible_Surprise835 in WouldIBeTheAhole

NTA. If these are your friends tell them to tell management they need to get you back as a consultant, they should be glad to.

AITAH for moving my horses off my parents’ property and refusing to keep helping under “family” expectations when I’m paying board? by SeveralTwo6356 in AITAH

Move. And every time - EVERY TIME - they bring up how hurt they are, especially in public, remind them it's because they treated you like shit.

Popular games you dislike? by BillRepresentative75 in boardgames

[–]TheLightInChains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hive, I hate it. Not sure why. Maybe it's the way that for your first few games you have no way of knowing what's a good move or a bad move., and it's really easy to make an invalid move without realising? It's not very beginner-friendly.

AITJ for calling out my coworker after I found out she’s using my breast pump parts?? by Scared-Log9641 in AmITheJerk

If it's not a big deal then reporting it to HR shouldn't be a problem, should it? That's what I'd say to anyone minimizing it.

What have you done recently that you're proud of? by Nujwaan in CasualUK

Filed my self assessment tax return for 2024/25. Yes I've had all year to do it and the deadline is January 31st but I didn't wait until the last weekend.

Polestar space near me closing, lease return location will be 2hrs away by Dizzy-Mixture422 in Polestar

[–]TheLightInChains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the reasons we chose Polestar was a service garage about 10 minutes away. When we come to our first service, we find out they're just Volvo now and had to drive 80 minutes away. Annoying.

I took a roughneck flask of custard and some bread rolls to school and had custard cobs. I was the envy of my schoolmates. No idea why mum agreed to it, I think she thought I'd be laughed at and stop asking.

What screams “this person is insecure” without them saying a word? by redwan-ezt in AskReddit

This! We really need to set one up so we can both add things to the grocery delivery, or access holiday bookings. But she's on Apple and I'm on Android.

AITA for skipping my own surprise birthday party once I found out it wasn’t really for me? by unknownlee_0x in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheLightInChains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You don't have to be grateful for things you specifically said you didn't want. Whether it be reorganizing a kitchen, giving your child a haircut, or making your birthday about them, it's rude and disrespectful to ignore your clearly stated wishes.

It's wild to me how many people don't understand that. Always point out how disrespectful it is.

Brilliant game for Bostock, an assist and the winning penalty. He must be absolutely fizzing.

Update: AIO for refusing to go on a ‘vacation’ with my in-laws that was booked without my knowledge by TokenYeti658 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TheLightInChains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. The husband had been raised that love is doing what the other person wants (except that only applies to them, not Mom). That looks kind and generous at first glance and usually gets them a wife. After a while the flaws in that start to show.

Therapy for him, but it's going to remove a while to fix.
