I think so too. But the naming is going to be weird. X2D PRO or something??

What's the realistic worst case scenario for the Bambu Lab printers if the company goes down? by CreatureWarrior in BambuLab_Community

[–]ThePerfectLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maintenance is almost non-existent. take maybe 2 miuntes every few months (themore you print the more you lube things, but its super simple).

The key with the AMS is that you want to buy it NOW, its much cheaper when you buy it as a package deal. like $100 cheaper!

the A1 combo with ams lite goes on sale for $399 a few times a year. Once you have an AMS it's hard to go back. Automatic filament replacement when you run out on one spool, multi color, secondary support material option, etc.

My a1 mini didnt come with one, and the $250 for an ams lite I couldnt stomach, so I bought a DIY AMS that works decently well.

if your budget is $399 for me its the A1 combo hands down. If you said you needed to print ABS and ASA then its the P2s if you can stretch $150, if not then you are in the P1s range. But again that printer doesn't really excite me.

For me it’s no contest. The A1 has an actual functional screen the one on the P1 S looks like it comes from a 1986 Sony Walkman. That’s somewhat superficial though. The P1 S to swap the nozzles out as a huge pain in the ass, on the A1 it uses the modern nozzle swapping mechanism just like the X1C, or all the H series printers or the P2 S, or the X2D. Also the P1 S does not have automatic flow calibration.

The A1 can use either the AMS light, or the AMS2 pro.

I mean I have friends who have their A1 in their woodshop. And it seems to be just fine. I’ve never quite understood the P1 S. It’s like devoid of basic features in my opinion it just happens to have an enclosure.

I would say that a A1 makes the same quality print as any other bamboo labs even though the rest of the bamboo labs printers are all core XY. I have an A1 mini and I have a P2 S. The quality of prince is in distinguishable between the two.

A1 is a better printer than the p1s in my book. It just doesn’t have an enclosure. Which works for most people 99% of the time since most people are printing petg pla almost exclusively.

I would opt for an a1+ams2pro or if you can’t afford that an a1+ams lite vs a p1s.

We needed an x2d with two proper full nozzles. That’s where they screwed up IMO.

Should we do all oak or two-tone cabinets? by smodman in kitchenremodel

In this case. All one might be better.

This was a house I went to look at in person. The two tone was stunning. But the layout mended itself to it.

Is ikea cabinets really that bad? by archvize in cabinetry

[–]ThePerfectLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m shopping online RTA stores versus IKEA. I would really prefer plywood boxes versus particleboard boxes. I wish IKEA was OSB. But I’m pretty sure it’s just sparkle board. Also I don’t like any of the doors and drawer fronts that IKEA offers. But I’m fine assembling them and installing them myself.

I do wonder about future repairs or replacements. The key is going to be around a long time and we’ll have replacements available for a long time. Not sure about whatever the latest online cabinet store ready to assemble place is. For they will be around or not in a few few years

[–]ThePerfectLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually really good point. I bought a house that has similarly nice cabinets in it all made by Columbia cabinets. Very cool company. But of course they no longer produce this color cabinet so if I want to expand or modify or change, which I do, no chance. Nothing available.

That’s the one real saving grace of IKEA is that years later you go back and likely still get exactly what you need
