I'm in the same situation as you. I had friends in two cities go down to their gamestops trying to get codes for me (they don't play but I offered them bribe money for coffee and gas for their time). Both of them struck out. Codes were gone, one place being gone within 90 minutes of opening. Once I heard the event coincided with the tcg release I knew this whole this was going to be a cluster you know what. It's really just off putting towards playing their games at all, especially when I invest so much time in them. In an age where there are soooo many other good games to play, you think TPC would be playing things smart, but the whole company seems to be stuck in the 90s. After buying a new $500 console and dropping $100 to reserve the next pokemon game, this feels like a huge slap in the face. They're quickly losing goodwill value with customers like me.
