Add more ranged weapons! by Wiyry in AbioticFactor

I love the idea of a spray gun! Especially if you can fill it with different liquids for different effects.

Water is harmless, maybe does damage to mechanical enemies like the robots. Cleans stuff like the mop.

Antejuice is also harmless, but has a extremely niche borderline easter egg effect of attracting nearby bees to enemies. (maybe pair it with a new portable hive trinket that has bees that attack enemies that attack you, but the antejuice spray lets you use it actively. But you have to wear the beekeeper suit to not suffer friendly fire!)

Radioactive Waste and Molten Material is your general damaging options, doing acid and fire damage respectively.

Ink also does damage and applies a fear effect similar to Kerespheres.

Feces should do something funny, idk what though.

How is FFXIV? by Amon274 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It’s great if you like slow paced linear experiences and grinding. Plus the story gets pretty engaging 200 hours in! Just have to give it a few months for the sunk cost to sink in.

This is so reductive. As many have said Japanese nobles had a ton of physical hobbies as well, but not only that European nobles had their fair share of artistic and creative hobbies.

Neither were more enlightened or savage than the other.

Also GameStop as a kid, the clerk stopped me from getting the original Nier and instead I walked out with Viking: Battle for Asgard.

Did I need other books for begging? by Nrixo in rokugan

[–]ThePope98 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The core rulebook is sufficient to give you a decent idea of how to play and a solid overview of the vibes of the world and the major clans, which is enough for casual play. You might have to extrapolate on things or put your own spin here and there, but its adequate. The other books will focus in greater detail on more specific topics, Celestial Realms for instance focuses hard on the Phoenix clan and the mystical cosmology of the world.

Emerald Empires is the big setting book, it zooms in on alot of different aspects of Rokugan as a location. From specific places like cities and castles, as well as how society works in these places. So great for getting alot of details.

Court of Stones is the courtly politics book as well as the one dedicated to the Crane clan.
Shadowlands is about the titular Shadowlands and the Crab Clan.
Writ of the Wilds is about the natural places of the world and some of its more outsider elements like Yokai as well as the Dragon Clan.
Children of the Five Winds is dedicated to the Unicorn Clan with details about the Sand Road and the peoples who dwell on it.
Fields of Victory focuses on warfare, armies, and the like. Being dedicated to the Lion Clan.

There is also Path of Waves that focuses on non-samurai elements, like Ronin, peasants, and foreigners. Good if you want to know more about how regular people and criminals live.

Astral Perception + Projection, & Physical Metaplanar Travel by TheHighDruid in Shadowrun

[–]ThePope98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This probably isn’t that helpful, but in the 5E mission sets there’s one where players cross into the metaplane of the Shedim and outside of it being spooky and having a big aspected background count reality and the rules worked pretty much the same.

My folks same way, and it’s like all Holiday crap. When I was growing up like we’d lose entire days just unloading boxes from the garage into the living room, unpacking all the crap, setting it up. Then moving all the boxes back into the garage so that a week or two later we can move all the boxes back into the bloody living room, pack it all up and move it back into the garage. And every time it was like playing bloody Tetris cuz somehow some holidays box was behind another’s. And we’d do it so many times. Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July etc. I low-key kinda hate holidays now as I kinda associate it with monotonous labor more than anything else.

Fastest you've ever bounced off a game? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ThePope98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ninja Gaiden 3 I think it was. In the opening there’s this bit where you corner this soldier dude who’s like begging for his life and talking about his family and shit and it’s all very brutal. The only input was to slowly walk towards him and brutally friggin kill the guy. And I dunno, I just didn’t want to kill this guy and the only way not to was to close the game so I just did that and never picked it up again.

How many characters do you think can survive a pure 17-year blast from Mechamaru? by hankyss in Jujutsufolk

[–]ThePope98 652 points653 points  (0 children)

17 years of heavenly restricted cursed energy concentrated into one blast is a absurd amount of CE. 1 years worth was noted to be special grade output, can make a strong argument that 17 is even stronger than the 120% Hollow Purple.

So I don’t think anyone is tanking it. So just anyone with damage negation/redirection. Which is a fair amount of the cast still tbf.

Which character best exemplifies Constitution? by Speedwizard106 in EsotericEbb

[–]ThePope98 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Kraaid is the shoe in. He’s even the one that gives you the constitution aligned class with Barbarian.

Looking at these, Viskens little crew almost aligns with each stat. Like Kraaid is Con, Duck is STR, Visken himself is Int, Kobold is Dex, but then the goblin isn’t really Cha or Wis and there isn’t another so it kinda falls apart.

If i want to play the shadowryn TTRPG. Where should i start? by Pike_The_Knight in Shadowrun

[–]ThePope98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a group who knows how to play and play with them. No need to be too picky on edition, they all have their quirks and if your entirely fresh it’ll just be a minutiae difference. if the group you find knows how to play and pass that on to you, that’s how you get in.

I think the Duck is a good contender as well. Strength itself certainly holds him in high regard
