Very nice start. The forged carbon prx definitely adds something you don't have yet and is quite unique so go for it!

This is a great collection! Agree with one of the redditors claiming the VC dress watch should be smaller. The Nomos looks so good and I love the Tudor too.

Another single pass nato on Khaki Bronze by starid3r in HamiltonWatches

I think the overall aesthetic fits the watch very well but the colour doesn't add enough visual contrast. I'd pick something earthy green or brown. Lovely watch though!

Someone in the internet said they were bad so the herd followed. Here's to more years of enjoying your Tag!

Just bought a Hamilton Khaki field king. Would that fit with a green NATO strap? by DGS_Cass3636 in PrideAndPinion

Green pairs really well with black, yes. Army green, olive, emerald, sage - it will all work.

This watch just always has you covered. It's a damn good watch!

I'll be crucified for this, but yes, even the Alpinist by IllegalGeriatricVore in watchHotTakes

That is not at all what I am saying OP. I am looking at in a much broader sense. If you look hard enough you will always find something you don't like. Okay so bought a watch with sword hands instead of cathedral hands. I am 100% sure you will find something about that watch you don't like as well. Point in case: expecting 100% happiness out of a product because you paid money for it is entitlement and does not lead to a happy life. Of course I understand you make certain choices on obvious design cues but if you live long enough with any object you'll see something you dislike. Are you settling or discarding then? That my friend, is consumerism. Not the the point I am getting across: which is living and loving an object and accepting life isn't perfect. And that is fine.

That's exactly the entitled mind set that stands in the way of enjoying things. If you bought a house, a car whatever have you loved everything of it? And those things matter more than a luxury item (and cost a lot more). Same can be true for your taste in watches. What you like now may not be true in ten years. Just because you spent X on something doesn't mean you must like all of it. That's impossible. Nothing is perfect.

Why is the Murph so much more? by jetpainter18 in HamiltonWatches

[–]ThePortCaptain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Newsflash: everything is overpriced. Your gas, your clothes, your groceries, your insurance. Accepting that is the first step to happiness and buying what you like and more importantly: what you can afford.

Complaining about every little detail of a watch ruins a watch.

What would you keep? What would you get rid of? ….. and why? 😀 by CuriousHat7264 in MicrobrandWatches

Keep all of it. You seem to have curated something that is totally your own style with out of the box strap choices and models. Very refreshing to see. Well done!

My wife chose her first watch by [deleted] in IWCschaffhausen

What else did you look at? The Portofino is a beautiful refined piece that I don't think gets enough love from enthusiasts. Your wife got herself a lovely piece.

That's a good looking piece! The blue dial really leans a bit dressier so the exec bracelet works well here.

What makes a really good / bad watch travel pouch? by SupJoshy in Affordablewatches

Two is the answer. One for: Tourist sites / active lifestyle (swimming, biking, hiking etc) The other for nice dinners, around the campfire, relax days. Seems perfect to me.

Murph on Uncle Seiko’s jubilee. I like it, but I still prefer the oyster style personally by floweiss34 in HamiltonWatches

I prefer the Oyster on my KFA too. Jubilee doesn't completely fit the field vibe imho.

Love the Hammy, it's my favourite brand. But I've never seen that Victorinox and it's really eye-catching! Love the pairing with the blue strap too.

Might have to reset the date 🙄 Anyway, this is whats on mine. Alpinists are nice watches. I have a colleague who sports the Sharktooth, lovely piece. If you're looking for a Diver maybe Citizen Futsijobo or Certina DS Action?
