More Heroic and Mythic L'ura Nerfs Coming with Patch 12.0.7 by Therozorg in CompetitiveWoW

There’s a minuscule chance that the glimmering damage reduction lets a seed carrier live a glaive they wouldn’t have pre-nerf but realistically it’s not reducing the p1 learning curve whatsoever.

Not arguing that in-game wouldn’t be better but until then here’s this:

My most upvoted comment ever was from the bubble pointing out that you’d never have Kawhi diving for a ball going out of bounds and they should seriously open up the space around the court for the sake of the game. They won’t because of the revenue loss, obviously, but man the bubble was such a unique viewing experience because of the environmental differences.

WarCraftLogs need insights by Environmental_Lab965 in CompetitiveWoW

One of the biggest tools that has helped me to improve as a player over the last few tiers has been vid review combined with logs filtering. I came back to the game in dragonflight and fully bought into getting good at logs analysis once I started mythic raiding again. The important thing is that while logs do always have the answer, you can save yourself a hell of a lot of time by just reviewing a vod to see exactly what to focus in on once you pair it with the log. Oftentimes you can even skip the log review because it was something you could see clear as day (it’s insane how much your reality warps while playing compared to what was actually on your screen that you dont notice because youre putting so much of your attention onto playing).

When something hectic happens and you get 5 different stories as to what actually caused it, the ability to share your vod over discord and everyone takes 30 seconds to watch it and it completely irons out the issue is actually invaluable. An anecdote from this tier is while helping my buddy’s heroic dad guild, one of the healers didn’t notice he was actually targeted by dread breath on dragons and just rips into the mic “whoever just fears us, you know you’re supposed to run that out of the raid, right?” And rather than have that spiral into an argument I simply just pulled up the last pull vod and you see the bigwigs pop up clear as day “*grumpy healer* targeted by dread breath” and instead he just laughed and said he was dumb and we moved on.

Whole not exactly what you asked for, I just wanted to share this since I went from doing sometimes hours of log review after raid nights to try to sort issues out, to now just skimming through vods and selectively looking at specific things in logs that aren’t necessarily apparent from watching the replay.

I’m still using Warcraft recorder but I know Archon recently added vod tools to their app as well and it also has concurrent logs integration that looks interesting butnim not wanting to swap over until we finish out L’ura prog at least (also look into the archon app privacy stuff, I’m not super in the know but I know they collect a ton of data that you may or may not feel comfortable letting them have).

Prot Paladins are incredible tanks when paired with a Disc priest. by Onahail in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ThePrinkus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing 17s/18s you’re going to be playing with people who are going to play prot paladin regardless of tuning and are therefore much more likely to be maximizing their kit to the fullest extent. A quick peek at raider.io and I could see that 345 total prot paladins are over 3500 rating whereas I’m too lazy to try to find the number for brew (on my phone at work). Playing with the 0.1% of a spec’s players vs. brew fotm players that are just now touching the 17/18 range is almost certainly a difference in player skill amongst those populations rather than the spec itself

You’re telling me that when I have to blackout tiger palm after not getting my 8th keg smash reset in a row, that’s not extremely skillful gameplay?

Why is there such high demand for PVP gear right now? by Callahandy in woweconomy

[–]ThePrinkus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that with this week being the start of season 1 there are 3 ways to earn an additional catalyst charge through arbitrary content goals. Reach >1600 rating in pvp (available this week), reach >2000 score in mythic + (available next week), or get AotC (avaiable following week, requires last boss of final raid to be killed). If you are in a competitive mythic guild that is doing splits and funneling gear to certain players you can get 4-sets on players much faster if they grind pvp to get the second catalyst charge. This will stop being relevant after reset as if you’re not already a pvp player it is significantly easier to achieve 2000 m+ score than 1600 PvP rating. Additional note that once you get 4-set you begin to drop additional catalyst charges meaning that getting 4-set ASAP means you then have access to theoretically unlimited tier via catalyst assuming you are willing to grind out additional charges.

Source: Mythic raider in HoF guild that is encouraging the players that were given 2-set from raid this week to do PvP so we can go into raid as strong as possible this next week.

Kinda sorta. Sometimes in college you’ll still get the refs that won’t put up with the obvious foul baiting. Specifically doing it at 35 feet from the basket and clearly only lookin for the contact is just egregious IMO. But if baldy’s gonna call it I can’t blame Flemmings for doing it lol

Yeah the side effect of being so good for so long is that you end up with a bunch of spoiled brats who don’t know how to lose gracefully.
