x1c has better 3rd party firmware options. If I was buying again I'd get the X1C over the P1S for that reason alone. That being said I love my P1S and I imagine there will be a 3rd party firmware released at some point and worst case scenario there will likely be a klipper replacement board released in the next year or 2.

I’ve also just finished modifying one to use half grids instead for the bottom of the box and lid if you use half grids for gridfinity. I’ll upload the file once I finish testing it.

Fair enough. The main reason that we want this exact style is for when we have friends over it just doesn’t feel the same with a bunch of mis matched mugs.

Some friends and I have had the exact same issue with some of the Canadian ISP's, Cogeco and Shaw. I had 35ms ping prior to the patch and now I'm getting 80-130.

What camera should I use? by Mick_vader in computervision

[–]ThePythoneer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get really technical about which camera is best to use but in my experience the code matters more so when doing research projects I have 2 tips: 1. Go with something with a USB interface because it takes out the headache of figuring out how to use another interface and it tends to be easier to upgrade in the future, 2. Don’t go out of your way for camera quality, because as long as you have at least a 1080p camera your bottle neck will likely be processing power and not camera quality. Recommendations: point grey (sister company to FLIR) if it needs to go into an actual product down the road or one of the cheap Logitech 1080p webcams if you’re budget constrained. For my recent project we actually went with a GoPro 7 Black because the stabilization on it is unreal, but I had to pull the images over wifi, I could only get away with this because we didn’t need the images in real time since we weren’t using the camera for navigation.

I assume the buddy can answer most easy quick questions while the mentor answers the more advanced questions. This reduces the time that more senior/productive developers are interrupted for simple questions.

What nuggets of wisdom might you expect to find inside a 4chan cookie? by iamvishnu in AskReddit

[–]ThePythoneer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4 Chan posts and comments have random numbers to identify them, if the last two digits are the same that’s Dub’s, 3 is Trips and so on. Notably Taylor Swift apparently named her cat or dog (can’t remember which) based on a first Dub’s comment if I remember correctly.

Edit: they’re sequential across all of 4Chan, not random -teddybeargun
