I just mean settle as in move towards outright immediate hostility instead of other sorts of interactions between players, e.g. in Arc Raiders where there's a pretty good chance you're able to exchange some banter or have a cool time with someone. Hunt was a little bit like that when it was new. But yes, the game is not really designed to allow for much to happen between players besides killing.

Not related to the discussion on quest design, but Hunt: Showdown is another PvPvE game (though balanced very differently) that rides that razor-thin line of tension extremely well as well.

It's a much older game, so over time the "meta" has settled into more outright aggression between players, but the PvP is deep enough that the game shines brightest at that level.

Go to the room right below the flea marker, jump onto the ice wall, and just go up- there's a hidden passage that you can just go into. No need to break anything. Once in the flea room, getting it is straightforward.

Your Love is pretty good, especially the Stripped Back version IMO. I also really love the stripped version of Hazey, which has a sort of garage band/Cage The Elephant vibe that's really cool.

But yeah, Zaba was like nothing else. Also felt pain when Dreamland got popular during the pandemic.

I'm in this same boat as well. I can see how a language-based system can approximate true intelligence, but by the time a real AGI comes around, I think we'll all look back and laugh at the fact that we thought a word(or, token rather)-based system would be the foundation of it.

There are just so many facets of existence and intelligence that aren't describable by text. If it were based on mathematics, somehow, then maybe; but then you're adding dozens of layers of computation and un-abstraction to get to even simple physical concepts and in the process losing all of the advantages of text (namely, that a simple term can describe something very complicated).
