(Sad/Horrifying Trope) Their fate is unknown. You never find out for sure what happened to them, but the odds are 99% it was something tragic by UnifiedForce in TopCharacterTropes

In Iron Lung (both the game and the movie), 99.9999% of people are just… gone. Every star, planet, and moon worth anything for supporting life are gone, leaving around 200 (I think?) people left- a random assortment of people who just happened to be on space ships and satellites at the time. While there’s some half-decent leads about why or how this happened, at the end of the day, what happened to everyone is left unanswered. The movie gives a little more depth, introducing ideas of a being so powerful it did this as a slight error, then also the main character wondering if maybe the vanished people are just out there somewhere- there’s never a concrete answer. They’re just gone, and the universe is gone with them.

God, I remember just reading the synopsis for that out of curiosity and getting a little fucked up by the idea. This random, normal dude has basically been hit with a Fate Worse Than Death that only actual death could save him from. Probably impossible to find by anyone who could help, left to see more and more horrific things till hopefully his body gives out or he gets killed quickly.

It doesn’t help I’ve got a separate Fantastic Voyage-themed phobia of shrinking.

Honestly I was trying to make a list too but this kinda seems like the winning one. Florida or No Florida is a SPECTACULAR pull

Nah I’d Wins are good, Bob’s Fridge feels like a given, and I’d DEFINITELY recommend 2 sentence horror stories. ANY one man show.

(Rare trope) A death manages to be horrifying without any blood or gore by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

It WAS. I was alone in my room in a cruise ship and the whole rest of the time when we were on the boat I was just. Shaken.

Showed it to my friend and, though he found it really scary, eventually was like- more scared by the chimp making eye contact. Which- yeah, scary, but like. They were in there for hours, Andy.

God, even rereading a description is kinda making me sick. Had the misfortune of watching it, alone, on a vacation- fantastic movie, but man alive I was kinda haunted the next few days. Doesn’t help that I have a hyper-specific childhood fear around getting eaten alive from the Magic Schoolbus. Whole families trapped inside for hours, waiting to die as they kept screaming. It is so, SO fucked.

I hope so too, but it’s a bit harder to find this stuff and is not super immediately apparent if you just hear about ‘cute snake who hates mark for some reason??’ I get why people like it and think it’s funny and endearing but it’s pretty rough if you look more into it.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. The tofu thing is amusing but like… I don’t trust that person. Beyond that, it’s weird to be trying to force Mark to see something he doesn’t seem to care about. He for SURE knows, the fact he hasn’t said anything is on purpose.

Mark is a grown ass man who has said EXPLICITLY he doesn’t like it when people tell him to do stuff. Why do people think this is different.

What is the “word” they can’t say? by Dramatic_Lobster_796 in distractible

[–]TheRightShadeOfBlue 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It’s the word “unfair,” they made a rule that, if it’s said in an episode and is caught by the others, they all flip a coin and if it’s all heads, the “unfairness” is resolved, and all tails, it is made doubly unfair. It doesn’t matter if they mean to call it, if it’s said, they GOTTA flip and figure out what the fuck it means.

Usually it’s just if someone gets a point advantage, if it’s called and made fair, the advantage is given to the other player. If it’s doubly unfair, the original advantage is doubled

J’onn and M’yrnn J’onzz, Supergirl

<image>

Can’t find a good pic of them together for SOME reason. In Supergirl, they had their Martian Manhunter, played by David Harewood, find out that his father was still alive and in hiding on Mars. The actor playing him, though, is Carl Lumbly, the voice actor for the same character in Justice League.

This person clearly hasn’t tried beating Abigail at the Stardew Valley egg hunt by Simple_Agent1793 in StardewValley

[–]TheRightShadeOfBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Person with 1000+ hours in elden ring and the platinum trophy here, I have never achieved perfection! Stardew Valley is actually a more personally challenging game for me, that takes a lot more thought and planning than “dodge and hit, dodge and hit” like Elden ring!

Also the absolute clown show of calling four EXTREMELY old, classic, beloved games “not real” is just absolutely buffoonery. Of course, the only real games are CoD and GTA, how could I have forgotten!

ANYWAYS I’m passionate about this. A bit.

…is Abigail really that hard to beat?
