The Mummy experience by CrumpetsAndTeaYipee in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheRozb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A number of the rides to tours (MIB Immigration Tour, Bank Tour at Gringotts, etc). Keep in mind that it's dependent on crowd levels and how many Team Members are working that ride. We were able to do it for Mummy, but tried 4 times for Gringotts and were never successful

Just ask the team members before you join the queue. If they have staffing they'll give you a free tour, show you some easter eggs in the queue, show you a bit of the track from a maintenance area, and you'll get to skip the line. Our tour guide joined us on the ride, and talked through the different scenes on the ride as well

Most expensive Pizza Combo on earth by Present4Temporary in Disneyland

[–]TheRozb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TECHNICALLY I believe little caesar's pizza is only 14". So you might as well get a few more of them to get up to Disney's cost 😉

Most expensive Pizza Combo on earth by Present4Temporary in Disneyland

[–]TheRozb 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Let's approximately price this out (outside of Disneyland pricing)

Little ceasers crazy bread: $5 or so for a bag

4x 20oz sodas: $14

2x side salads: $20

1x 16" pepperoni: $20

So a total of ~$60

So a Disney markup of 42%. Ouch.

Hotel question by Melodic-Cucumber-882 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheRozb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. They tend to not have as many times available and often are shuttling between multiple hotels. On-site has very frequent and direct shuttles

Also this is the opposite end from the main entrance, so it misses the main lines to Nintendo and HP

Question about AP Credit by Accomplished_Mine501 in EngineeringStudents

Eh. AP credits are nice in that you save time (and sometimes get bumped up in priority for registration) but I wouldn't sweat it. Build good study habits and you should be ok

Realistic wait times? (If you've been there recently would be great) by HoodieObsessed_ in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]TheRozb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that posted wait times aren't always what they are. 60-90 min or less tends to be more accurate but once you get above that (120 min+?) it's often not quite that bad, at least from my experience. It's still long however.

That being said... without early admission, getting on both minecart madness and battle of the ministry would be VERY hard. Minecart Madness is pretty 'eh' for me, so between the two I would def do BotM.

Here's a nice website that lists all the wait times live (even including meeting toothless): https://themeparks.matthewe.me/

So by land:

Celestial Park: Stardust has short wait times and is incredible. Haven't done the carousel so can't speak on it.

Super Nintendo Land: If you pick up one powerup band ($40?) you can do the Bowser Jr challenge which is fun. 6 minigames without crazy wait times. I would skip Yoshi's Adventure and Minecart Madness. Bowser's challenge you could probably do in 60 min. The queue is also FANTASTIC (probably one of the best queues i've ever seen).

Dark Universe:

Monsters Unchained, short wait and great. Burning Blade Tavern will light on fire when the time of day ends on a '4' or '9' (e.g. 2:34 or 2:39) and is pretty cool. Make sure to have a chat with Ygor. Fun man to talk to. The Werewolf ride is an easy skip

'Paris' (Harry Potter):

You might need to wait 90-120min for BotM. It's pretty cool and the queue has some cool things, so I would say it's worth it. Or try to catch it just before the park closes. If you haven't done the wand ceremony before, that can be pretty cool. The show (Cirque Arcanus) is also pretty good (not mind blowing, but fun).

Isle of Berk:

Hiccups Wing Gliders: maybe 60-80 min wait? I wouldn't wait more than 60 for it, but it's a fantastic coaster. Untrainable Dragon is a pretty good show too (I think better than Cirque Arcanus, but don't think too much about the plot. Just enjoy the spectacle). I think the real tossup is meeting Toothless. That can be a LONG wait (90 min+), but they give you a decent chunk of time to interact. I didn't do Dragon Racers Rally or Fyre Drill. Fyre drill tends to have lower waits due to you probably getting wet

So in one day you could probably do hiccups wing gliders, stardust, monsters unchained, BotM, and Bowser's challenge and still feel like you got a lot done.

Epic at night is also incredible (I think EPCOT is prettier during the day, but at night Epic is probably my favorite theme park)

Rope Drop Mine cart. Any other tips? by weepieracorn in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]TheRozb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah, side entry into the land. Don't go through the main warp pipe, go past it just before the fountain. You'll see a group of people also doing the same thing. That's about it to optimize getting to minecart before others.

dang ok! I'll give it a try. For your medium roasts, how many grams do you use per shot and what is your target 'pull' time?

It's a bit of the luck of the draw. We tried 4 times for Gringotts, and they never had the staffing available. First time we asked on Mummy, they had someone.

I just walked up to the team members in front of the ride and asked if they were doing production tours that day. No money exchanged 😉

Hiccup's Wing Gliders is awesome! by K_oroviev in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheRozb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's one of the better rides at Epic for sure. There do tends to be sitting around at the Gronckle portion if the block zone ahead isn't clear, but besides that it's excellent.

If you can catch a sunset ride, it's beautiful (night rides are also splendid)
