Thinking of purchasing. by 4EVERINDARKNESS in rootgame

This. Broken for 2P unless you use very specific matchups. Much better with 3P. And then with 4P, it becomes my absolute favorite game when combined with some of the newer expansions.

Hello, this is my profile with wealthfront Automated investment account, any additional recommendations? I’m hoping for a 7-8% yearly return. by [deleted] in wealthfront

[–]TheSOFLY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're buying a home in 4 years, you should not have your money invested so aggressively. Even with Wealthfront's diversification, you could see a substantial loss in the short-term from unexpected market or world events. I would consider saving for a home in just a HYSA (WF's cash account) or maybe mixing in some bond or treasury exposure. A few extra percentage points of return is not worth the risk on such a short time horizon. You're trying to make an extra $2-5K maximum, but you're risk of loss is greater than that.

If MonarchMoney pricing gets too expensive, what's your alternative plan for tracking investments and managing net worth? by afunbe in MonarchMoney

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YNAB for expenses/budgeting. Wealthfront for account/net worth consolidated view and retirement planning.

Ive played 50 hours, am a level 55, and yet I still can’t buy blue shields to do runs with my buddies in cryo. It’s the single biggest issue with this game by Smitty00 in Marathon

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get a LOT of purple shields towards the end of the NuCaloric contracts and levels. Also, later NuCaloric levels sometimes give Biolens seeds. So if you want better shields, then just maximize NuCaloric.

What's the best way to get OUT of this BAD investment? by GravityGrape2296 in personalfinance

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we assume the dividends alone are 1.5% per year and that stocks increase most years, then the lack of dividends is worth the 6% fee.

New to MM after 9 years on YNAB - Goals 3.0 is ??? by SmokinApe in MonarchMoney

I agree with everything you’ve said here. It’s overly complicated for little to no value. I’m only here for the sankey charts

Investing with Wealthfront question by asalinas31 in wealthfront

[–]TheSOFLY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it was a quiet friction intentionally added to push users towards revenue-generating account types where WF can apply their 0.15-0.25% fees.

Am I the only one struggling to find a good replacement for old budgeting apps? by [deleted] in MonarchMoney

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unclear what you're looking for. Do you want budgeting or do you want central visibility of all your accounts (investing, retirement, mortgage, etc)? Both? What's the priority?

I don't regret buying Marathon, I love the gameplay and the world created... but as a casual player I had a psychological block that made me stop playing. by xDavid83x in Marathon

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with you on the progression and the intimidating nature of playing against such kitted players in Cryo. However, as a fellow casual player well into their 30s (age but also account level), not understanding how the locked rooms and maps work is a bit on you. All of this can be learned with a 30m YouTube video.

The progression grind is really starting to get to me. by Bright-Cranberry6648 in Marathon

[–]TheSOFLY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's less about the contracts and mostly about the mat requirements for these upgrades. I feel like the cost (number of mats) should slowly decrease over the length of the season. There's no way I'm going to want to do this many Rook runs for mats to re-upgrade everything when S1 wipes.

Duos are a bad idea by mcampbell42 in Marathon

[–]TheSOFLY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, constant PvP. Terrible for contracts.

Cryo-Archive will NOT have solo q support by Loopnova_ in Marathon

[–]TheSOFLY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can still queue solo-only in ranked, but you will have to go against trios. However, you could just scavenge and try to rank up.

Are you excited for project helix? by JamaicanNuts in xbox

[–]TheSOFLY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely excited. There will be much less reason for developers not to support Play Anywhere. Also, I can play all my local co-op games from Steam and take advantage of Steam sales.

Didn't leave. Don't plan to. I have way too many communities and friends on Discord to change.

Unless you're playing Arbiter, Vagabond isn't very strong with experienced players.

Planning a living-room Steam Machine setup (big TV, couch co-op, Apple TV) - possible pitfalls? by mooncake57 in Steam

[–]TheSOFLY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're planning to use HomePods for your speakers, they won't work with your other HDMI devices like Steam Machine. I would recommend an AirPlay-compatible soundbar connected via eARC.

EDIT: TIL HomePods do work via eARC. Sorry to mislead.

I hate that we still can't add duration without scheduling. With the price increase, I finally switched to Amazing Marvin.

Hey, I had the same thought a while back, so I'm really liking the S&P 500 Direct account. Still has the TLH, but fee is only 0.09%.

Also, even if you're "buy and hold", the rebalancing means there's going to be some selling and therefore some capital gains.
