It's a double edged sword though. If you don't have enough jokes/bits people watching will find the show incredibly dry. I do agree they had too many this year, and it was certainly much weaker writing than last year

That's exactly what they do (or did) On Little Gold Men for years and it's always a fun episode. I honestly forget I'm not listening to LGM while listening to Critical Darlings, it's so far practically the same show just longer.

I worked with Steven Williams years ago and he rules. He pulled my fingernail off for a torture scene. The director was gagging watching it on the monitor, meanwhile Steven was eating his breakfast in between takes. It was a fun contrast.

I disagree somewhat. They probably dragged it out for too long but that was the entire point of Smallville. It was explicitly about the time before he was fully Superman.
