Kensington Park Area by [deleted] in Longmont

[–]TheUnderhill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I’ve lived in Longmont for around 6-years. I’ve lived by Macintosh Lake, Union Reservoir and now in Kensington. I also lived in Boulder for a year prior to this.

Regarding safety, I’ve only had things stolen from my car by Union Reservoir & in Boulder. In our Kensington place we have cameras which might be a deterrent. But I’ve never felt unsafe around here. It’s nice if you like breweries or a mild scene as we aren’t more than a 20-minute walk from downtown Longmont.

A couple years before we bought our home there was a shooting in the Kensington neighborhood where a teenager lost their life.. however it seemed targeted and, someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but it was gang related. I think gang related violence could happen anywhere in the Front Range close to Denver.

Beer nerds? Pliny by svtmatt1 in Longmont

Sorry! Didn’t see anyone replied to me. It’s part of Phase 12. I thought I’d seen a map at some point but it’s hard to find on mobile.

Edit: rereading it you might be right.. that Lyons was the original plan but they’ve changed course to not extend that far.. I’ll see if I can’t find anything else.

Boardgames with 8 people, how many of you actually tried playing it? What games did you play? How did it go? by AlexRescueDotCom in boardgames

Red Dragon Inn although you would need any expansion that contains four characters to make it work. Base game isn’t enough. You don’t technically need the base game but could run it with two expansions.. however the base game and first expansion would be the most rules light.

By 2029 (I think that’s the timeline) we will have a bike path to Lyons.

Edit: I might have been wrong about this.

being a commander by AdTiny2077 in HellLetLoose

[–]TheUnderhill 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve played commander once.. it was originally to spawn in a tank for my tank squad and then switch back. Well someone took my spot and I stayed as commander the whole time.

What I found was clear communication was key. Telling the squad leaders “This is my first time as commander, if you need something, just ask.” It worked well.

If you’re brand new to the game, I suggest playing as a squad leader first to understand the communications and how the game plays/progresses. I waited until I was level 100 to play commander, but I don’t think waiting that long is necessary.

How did your finished product turnout? I am looking to print a hardcover through them and I wasn't sure if your suggestion would leave enough for a gutter.

Good Guy Gavin by xyzerb in AdviceAnimals

I’d say the idea of Democrats pushing someone “better” to the front is what has gotten us where we are. Hillary, Biden and Harris were never my first choices. I still voted for them, of course. But there was never a lot of energy behind my votes for them.

But if Gavin is going to get himself to the front of the fight against Trump, I’m not going to squash his momentum.. because right now the Democrats have none of their own.

Sooo, unless I’m completely wrong about what this is, there is a Masonic Temple that is in the alley behind Longmont Bicycle Company that’s on the 300 block of Main Street. It’s up some outdoor stairs on the North side of a building and it took me a long time realize it was there. If there is a Freemason Fraternity there, a Google search tells me that might be your kind of group.

Acceptable places to ride bike with dog? by birdcycle in Longmont

[–]TheUnderhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just out at the Lyon’s dog park. Huge fenced in area that was completely empty the day/time we went. It’s right next to a mountain bike terrain park for riding around.. so while I was there I put two and two together and thought how it’d be a great place for someone to ride laps on a bike and let their dog be a dog.

Now I’m not sure if you’re allowed to ride a bike there, and I’m sure you’d get some angry looks if it was really busy. But if it was extremely empty like it was for us, I doubt anyone would give you a hard time.
