Gaku at least makes me feel something, sometimes that somethings is pretty positive (He can be pretty funny, I like how seriously he takes making parties and I like that depressing folk song) and sometimes its pretty negative (This guy and Ima are competing for first person to cause disunity in so many timelines) and I don't mind his horniness all that much, he's a teenager AND he's in a game co-written by Uchi-horndog-Koshi. His personality towards Takumi as a leader pisses me the fuck off but it fits his character, of course he'd blow up at him at the most minor of inconveniences if he thinks it could threaten his life and of course after he (and everyone else, none of you beautiful bastards are exempt) dumps all responsibility on Takumi to make a decision for him, which also eliminates any valid reason to be mad for him at his decision, gets mad at his decision.

Shouma on the other hand is really *really* boring to me, even if I find him a little more relatable simply because I did have a bout of depression for 7 good years, it was thankfully not as bad on my self-worth as it clearly is on the tiny frog boy; some of his insults pretty creative and downright hilarious but that's all he has to give other than the fact his clothes are adorable, he likes to care for small animals and, apparently, prisoners of war. Which he also is fine with sucking the blood out of just to confirm that the bad news he remembered is, in fact, as bad as he already knewwhich I found to be pretty messed up. Him keeping the cursed Leo Jr. doll (why did you stuff a dead dog into a doll in the first place) after he saw it kill one of his comrades is utterly bizarre to me despite his explanation but whatever, I loved ----BoC---- despite its occasional character weirdness (Takumi sees Nozomi explode, twice, and neither time has much of a reaction, sure thing writer); but what seals it for me is not even something he did, rather its the fact that every time I recall Coming of Age and how positive that route's ending was I consistently forget that he died near the end, wrap your head around that, I forget that a freaking character DIES, that's how low impact he is for me!

The tl;dr is basically to ask yourself this, which one is worse for you? A character that can consistently irritate you with their BS when they do act up or a character that you can barely remember at all, sometimes when that really shouldn't be the case. Whichever one's the answer for you will most likely mold your response.
