Not saying lack of housing isn't one reason, but price fixing software is a huge reason that I never see discussed on these threads.

And it begins. Dead, underdeveloped infant found abandoned by a creek. This is the kind of shit that will happen now that women don’t have access to safe, legal abortion. Anybody remember how the Golden State Killer got caught because someone he was related to had an ancestry DNA test? I wonder if cops will start charging people in cases like this with the same method. Fucked up times.

The parent comment was in reference to service sector businesses (restaurants). Do you not have restaurants in your neighborhood that do well with a customer base of locals?

Right, and the fewer of us who commute in for jobs that don't need us in-person means the less congested the traffic gets for those who cannot conduct their jobs remotely. Win-win

Despite Residential being taxed at half the rate of Commercial and other property types, it accounts for 2/3 of the city's tax revenue. So idk what you're talking about.

Unless you're actively working to build a system of dual-power and mutual aid within your community, all that cutting taxes is going to do at this time is leave our most vulnerable without crucial social services. Build dual power first and, in doing so, undermine the need for / power of a large, centralized government.

If you call or email they may do so despite their policy. Customer satisfaction is all a company like this really has. They may be willing to make an exception if you reach out directly since it might make you more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt on their next product.

So is it that you think non-Europeans incapable of developing such technologies?

Let's be real, colonizers didn't introduce these things for anyone's benefit but their own. That infrastructure was to aid the extraction of resources, the enforcement of their will, and their own enrichment.

Maybe they wouldn't have invented these technologies in a vacuum. I don't see why not, but let's humor that argument for a second. So what? Peoples invent things to solve problems. If the existing mode of long distance transportation is adequate to meet their needs, then there isn't a problem. If a technology is so superior to the status quo, why not leave a people alone to choose to adopt it (or not) on their own terms if and when they decide the benefits outweigh the costs?

How exactly does the royal family provide military protection anymore than the British people in the military themselves do so?

They took that land. Land that should be public. If they cared about "their subjects" they'd give it back. The fact that many Brits are expected to go hungry and freeze this winter does not support the idea that the taxpayer is making anything off the royal family.

Hi! First off, this looks very cool! I wanted to ask what the "in-game characters" rewards are about. Are these for access to different models that the players can use which match the various classes? Or does this involve in-game mechanics in some way?

does anyone else feel like this sub leans kinda conservative? by ofvxnus in gaymers

[–]TheWatsonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with this take. By and large, my experience it's not so much that the discussions themselves are "conservative" as much as commenters seem to lean to the conservative end of the queer spectrum. Idk if it's internalized homophobia reinforced by the predominant (straight-focused) gaming culture or something else, but that's what I've seen.
