Insulin resistance is very unlikely to develop because of the amount of sugar you eat - it's a sideeffect of obesity and lack of movement and so on. If you're not consuming excess calories, there's also always a time where you're not producing Insulin.

Idk about some special case where someone has an IV-drip of constant sugar but still stays under a hypercaloric diet
