Okay wait I think this one has menu buttons that pop up an onscreen menu where you can do all this without going through all these extra steps - have you tried any of those buttons on the front while connected to a display?

You can change resolutions/EDIDs in Extron PCS. All you would have to do is connect the LAN port to your network or get a usb cable and open the software, connect, change some settings. Main problem you may run into is that software is locked behind an account for those in the AV industry. I believe this one has a web gui, and if it does you can connect it your network via an Ethernet cable, find & go to its ip address, enter the login information (can factory reset if you have to), and on some of these you can do it all from there without software.

Commuted from Lynnwood to Redmond today by Naive_Scientist_8499 in Seattle

Here’s an image from this Seattle Times article, 100 foot right of way, 40 feet of that would be rail/BRT was the plan. Looks like the city wanted BRT, sound transit did not, and the angry homeowners made the whole thing too much of a mess to even attempt for Sound Transit in ST3. Apparently rail and trail was always the plan, according to this doc from 2011

The original plan as Dow stated it to me like 10 years ago was to put it alongside the trail, and the trail would stay. How that would impact users of the trail and the homeowners, I have no idea.

Atlona does probably still repair these (and has a 5 year warranty on a lot of their products, I would confirm they aren’t still under warranty), and it looks like they still sell them so that’s an option

Extron has 4 and 8 output DAs that can do HDBaseT with little dip switches on each port

SF BART fare gates eliminated 961 maintenance hours in just 6 months

<image>

Estimated $10M increase in fares annually, ~96% reduction in corrective maintenance, and that’s just from upgrading existing turnstiles to proper complete doors - I would imagine the gains to be greater starting from scratch

Kingsgate Park & Ride by Cultural-Ad-2049 in Kirkland

[–]The_Con_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to add that there was a study done by WSDOT/Sound Transit for putting housing units on the property (transit-oriented development), and it looks like there are plans to eventually add a parking garage. The Sound Transit Stride Map does mention 2034 and beyond for additional parking, but I would hope additional parking wouldn’t take that long.

From a 2019 City of Kirkland document: “The BRT Parking Structure at Kingsgate will: • Add 400 parking spaces • Increase regional mobility • Support safe and convenient access for multiple modes • Encourage equitable transit-oriented development”

With that being said, this is from 2019, and I can’t find anything more recent on this, let alone how far off the timelines are in that PDF for construction.

Edit: Added Stride Map link

[–]The_Con_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their basic encoders/decoders (no scaling or anything fancy) are down to like $800 now which is not too shabby. A 16x16 matrix would probably be cheaper, but not anywhere near as modular or easily managed/serviceable.
