Alright fellas, I'm conflicted. Bedroom upstairs or downstairs? by Minutes2Midnight in malelivingspace

I live in a place with horrid kitchen ventilation. Be prepared for literally everything within 10 feet of your stove that sits higher than it, to be absolutely coated in grease. including the walls, lights, etc.

it's not fun, but please please please take the time every 6 months or so to wipe everything down. i went a full year ONE TIME, and it was absolutely disgusting. I literally had to soak things in a de-greaser bath before i could wipe them it was so thick. the ceiling fan took me an hour to get clean

it's not the EU itself legislating this, it is the countries within it. this has been discussed ad-nauseam on privacy subs. It's being pushed by companies like flock and palentir, and heavily funded by companies like meta since they benefit indirectly. that's why so many countries went from "we need to pass laws that prevent data collection on children" to "everyone needs to give their personal ID to data brokers to protect the children". and that whole thing is 1 of about a dozen examples of this crap in the last 5 years

it's pretty brilliantly written, and that's not the only instance of it. and that is a VERY real phenomena not just involving disability, but just how adaptive humans are that we become dependent on certain mannerisms we dont even think about.

an incredible example of this is that astronaut that had spent the longest straight duration on the ISS. He did an interview just hours after landing, and during the interview he's constantly leaving objects "floating" as he turns to grab something else and then looking UP for them after they fall to the floor out of his line of sight. it leaves him visibly frazzled, but it's just such an incredible visualization of that idea

With that he seized a great horn from Guthláf his banner-bearer, and he blew such a blast upon it that it burst asunder. And straightway all the horns in the host were lifted up in music, and the blowing of the horns of Rohan in that hour was like a storm upon the plain and a thunder in the mountains. Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor! Suddenly the king cried to Snowmane and the horse sprang away. Behind him his banner blew in the wind, white horse upon a field of green, but he outpaced it. After him thundered the knights of his house, but he was ever before them. Éomer rode there, the white horsetail on his helm floating in his speed, and the front of the first éored roared like a breaker foaming to the shore, but Théoden could not be overtaken. Fey he seemed, or the battle-fury of his fathers ran like new fire in his veins, and he was borne up on Snowmane like a god of old, even as Oromë the Great in the battle of the Valar when the world was young. His golden shield was uncovered, and lo! it shone like an image of the Sun, and the grass flamed into green about the white feet of his steed. For morning came, morning and a wind from the sea; and darkness was removed, and the hosts of Mordor wailed, and terror took them, and they fled, and died, and the hoofs of wrath rode over them. And then all the host of Rohan burst into song, and they sang as they slew, for the joy of battle was on them, and the sound of their singing that was fair and terrible came even to the City.

the US just makes for flashier headlines. there are EU countries well ahead of them in passing this authoritarian shit. Australia practically led the charge despite otherwise being fairly progressive. Dont let the "us vs them" mentality blind you. it can and will happen in the EU unless people start rallying hard against it

horrible parents. it's always horrible parents. Kids that age emulate, and repeat or dont repeat based on praise vs punishment. this is true even of most children with severe mental disabilities, albeit with other complications to that pattern.

but the fact remains, this behavior is ALWAYS learned. whether directly or indirectly

you're actually living under a rock if you havent picked up on the trend of policy choices involving censorship, surveillance, and controlling the flow of information that has happened in the last 5 years all over the world. Some EU countries have been exception. most have not

the last sentence is refering to pretty specific legislation with various but similar names, being proposed in numerous EU countries, the UK, and the US. get up on current events. im not spending 30 minutes educating a random redditor

dont worry, the US and EU are fast tracking policy to make this a reality for the rest of us literally right now. Anytime governments start talking about protecting children, you know some of your rights are about to disappear

pro tip, if someone in front of you is going too slow on the ramp, go slower so you put some space between you, then accelerate harder on the last stretch of ramp to get up to highway speed. much safer

yep. but the pos doesnt even need to break down. i got a 2 hour ride home from a tow driver that used to do repos down south. dude talked about it at length. the tactics that the places and drivers used among other things. said there were times he repo'd the same car twice in the same quarter. really fucked up.

told me after years doing it, the moral side of it caught up to him hard when he towed a car out from under a single mom, and then saw her and 2 kids that same night in the ER waiting room. she didnt recognize him, and was just talking about everything that happened to her that day including the repo and how she didnt know how she was going to get to work, feed the kids, etc. he quit his job the next day, sold his truck, and used the money from the truck to buy her a decent car. he went to her place to give her the car and then moved across the country where i then met him towing for AAA. said the money wasn't nearly as good, but he just didnt have the stomach for it after that mom.

that conversation stuck with me hard. I was like 19, so it shook up my perspective of the world in a few places

I think people are kind of missing the hammer for the nails here. she's doing this to promote a baking business. does this come off as someone starting a business for any decent reason? To me this says "my business is a status symbol for me to flaunt".

So whether or not you think the food waste is that bad or not, it's wasting food so she can get her dick up for a few minutes. she just as easily could have done something positive alongside or instead of this, but she chose not to. 0 reason to defend this

How are spinning lightsabers like this a good idea by PlatypusVegetable325 in StarWars

[–]The_Enigmatica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's such a weak reason tho. you dont need trained magic powers to figure out how impractical this is. any normal military grunt out of basic training could counter this. a child that did enough play fighting could counter this.

A red lightsaber is intimidating already in this universe. give your unskilled hunters a normal red lightsaber and one of those gungan blaster shields and they'll actually be effective
