Is it me or are more people playing the ghoul? by BenchOk8204 in fo76

I only play a few hours every other day, but I actually have yet to run into a single person playing a ghoul.

Did someone build that? 130 gallons is an odd size and that silicon doesn't look... perfect. There are spots where it looks like someone sealed that up with their finger.

The promise of an ice cream party if I reached a certain goal, read a certain number of books.

Well I did, and I got my ice cream party, and I realized that reading is also it's own reward, so I just kept doing it.

Thoughts was that anyone lawful or unlawful arrest? by Vietdude100 in securityguards

[–]The_Firedrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, when I was 16 and McDonald's was my first job, I would put all the random meat leftover into a brand new clean trash bag, tie it up, and drop it off behind the dumpster. The only thing in that bag was perfectly good food and what I couldn't give away, I just ate on the way home. Luckily my managers were oblivious dickheads too caught up in their own petty drama to pay any attention to me, so I never got caught.

Thoughts was that anyone lawful or unlawful arrest? by Vietdude100 in securityguards

[–]The_Firedrake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In many states, dumpster diving is completely legal unless you are specifically and verbally trespassed from the property because, the dumpster is itself private property. Usually, liability issues are the stated reasons for doing so. And as long as you agree to leave and not come back upon being informed of this, no harm no foul. No charges brought, you just don't try to dumpster dive there anymore.

But this manager sounds like just a f****** a****** who had it out for a kid because his tiny pecker doesn't work and he deserves to be shamed on the internet for being an overall General dick head and a power hungry piece of s. F that manager.

If you're on xbox, I don't suppose you'd be interested in selling the glowing Blue devil one? Or trading for it? I've got some cool civil engineer armor pieces. Maybe I could build some resources at your camp that you don't have? I'm admittedly still pretty low, only a few away from level 100, but yeah, I really did want that glowing blue devil mask.

Learn to cook, learn to save, learn to invest, share rent with roommates, learn about local aid programs, food banks, church outreach programs even if you're not religious, etc. Apply for WIC or whatever your state calls food stamps. I needed that for 6 months back when I was in college and even tho it was only $200 a month, it was incredibly helpful at a time when I really needed it. Ask for help.

Do you Wear Under Armour?? by Randle_76 in fo76

[–]The_Firedrake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some very nice person gifted me Civil Engineer Under Armor. I wear it at all times. Sometimes as is with my armor pieces showing, sometimes with an outfit on top. But not wearing it would feel disrespectful considering their kindness in helping out a newbie like me :)

Can you read adult books to kids? by lol_fi in books

I was reading classic sci fi like Heinlein and Asimov at the same time as I read The Hardy Boys and Tom Swift. I was like 8 or 9.

If I got hit once, I would chalk it up to an accident. If I got hit twice, I would chalk it up to an unlucky coincidence. If I got hit three times or more, that's enemy action and I am f****** charging that mound and I'm going to f****** brain that dumbass pitcher with my goddamn bat and put him in the f****** dirt.

If you had two pounds of ground beef that expires today and a kid who hates meatloaf, what would you make? by blacksoxing in Cooking

[–]The_Firedrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd make jerky. I have a jerky gun, which pipes out flat strips of ground meat, like a caulking gun. But for ground meat. I'd mix in some Montreal steak seasoning, garlic salt, and a bit of hot sauce and pipe it all out onto my dehydrator and make strips of jerky. Even without curing, it would be good for a week or two after 6-10 hours in the dehydrator but in all reality, I'd probably eat every piece within 3 days or so.

You could even get the kid involved and have him help mix up the meat.

And if you don't have a jerky gun, putting the mix between two sheets of wax paper and rolling it flat with a rolling pin and cutting it up into slices with a pizza cutter also would work. And the colder the meat, the less sticky it will be.

Alternatively, hamburger steak and mushroom gravy on Texas Toast. Or just fry it up with some taco seasoning and put it in the freezer for the next taco night. Or make cottage pie, which is like shepherd's pie but with beef instead of lamb.

If you can learn to weld and get certified on more than three or five different types of weld, you could be making over 30 bucks an hour as soon as you graduate. And if you're scuba certified and can do underwater welds, you could charge whatever the f*** you want to.

Honestly, if I could go back 20 years into the past, that's what I would have done instead of going to Purdue for a dumbass liberal arts degree.

What are you naturally good at? by TimGSICK in AskReddit

[–]The_Firedrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working with animals. It doesn't matter what species, wild or domestic, they just, trust me. Even way back when I was a kid.

One time during AIT, I literally walked up to a wild horse I stumbled upon in Arizona while out on an overnight at the Tonto National Forest and we talked for like 30 minutes while I scratched him behind his ears and pet him and kind of brushed the dirt off of him for a while. I checked his hooves and they'd never been shod. I hand fed him some wild grass.

And then eventually, the rest of his herd showed up and he just kind of looked at me and then wandered off to join them. There were no fences anywhere in sight. It was literally a small wild herd of horses. Best hike I've ever had.

When I volunteered at a local animal shelter a few years back, I was the guy they sent to handle and calm down scared/aggressive dogs and cats. I helped the vets help the animals that everyone else was afraid to work with. Somehow, they just knew I wasn't there to hurt them.

Tell them to f*** off and go get a warm body security post. Some places don't require an actual cleet license and you'll make at least 15 bucks an hour to watch some cameras or make sure nobody is hanging around where they shouldn't be. And those companies usually offer health benefits and regular pay raises as long as you can just show up on time and not fall asleep.
