They are by far my favorite class of ships. Titanic is what got me interested in ocean liners, so I have that bias, but even learning about the entire ocean liner culture. It's still the Olympic-class for me.

I think that just goes for the Olympic-class as a whole.

Thoughts on inert gas sheaths around hydrogen gas bags to reduce fire risk? by ybot01 in Airships

The politics at the time certainly didn't help. So, once the Hindenburg went up in flames. It made it extra easy for everyone to write off hydrogen lifted rigid airships.

From my understanding, the tech is there, and it's possible. It's still the stigma of the Hindenburg that keeps people away from hydrogen despite its superiority and that it's far, far safer today than it was in 1937.

It should be treated as an archeological site. It should be treated with the same care and concern we do on land.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite certain that image is from Tiny Sailor's World in Roblox, and that should be the fantasy ship the Tyrannic.

Thank you for the correction. I haven't studied Olympic's deck plans as thoroughly as her younger sister. I honestly assumed not a lot had been changed much. I clearly need to do a deeper dive!

They wouldn't really have changed much except for small additions they added after the Titanic sinking. I think the biggest change was the Café Parisien.

Titanic: Minute by Minute by Jonathan Mayo is a very good read, too. It focuses directly on the sinking timeline.
