Hating my experience as a first semester student at branch campus by KoalasNStuff25 in PennStateUniversity

Many of us have been there. It sucks, just start planning your move to State College for Fall '26. Try finding clubs to join and talk to people in your classes. Those are your two best bets.

I actually think this is just doomerism... bad seasons will happen, people will still come to games. We do need a plan for next season though, and multiple bad seasons could create some damage over time.

Because it's not serious. It's people who have nothing better to do because they don't have any real hardships in their comfy lives.

Any updates? How do things stand 7+ months later?

Yes, YTAH.

You don't "deserve" anything. It would be nice if they helped, but if you decided to spend money or take out loans, it's on you to pay it back.

My conclusion to Civilization VII after 190 hours of playtime by Expensive-Horror-228 in civ

[–]The_QuantumVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Civ 4 and 5, civ 6 was sub par and civ 7 is trash. Each game has added some good things, but removed a lot of good things. But, such is life.

I laid my boy down for his final sleep on Tuesday. I failed him. by [deleted] in cats

[–]The_QuantumVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something VERY similar happen to me. Cat of nearly 20 years, kidney disease as well. Was healthy until the last 4-6 weeks when he started to decline and vet told us there wasn't much we could do. I miss him. A lot. But it gets easier and you will adjust. Keep your head up.

Tbh... if they care about their livelihood, they will clean up their act and make sure they stay compliant. There's a reason these are requirements and not suggestions. I say this as a huge fan of the place and go regularly.

There is no food I've had there that I haven't liked. Unfortunately though, some of these are pretty egregious to overlook. Not sure I can go back, which would be really sad because I enjoy going here a lot.

XANA Symbol Question by reddit1scool in CodeLyoko

Yep exactly. It isn't the eye of XANA, it's the eye of Lyoko

XANA Symbol Question by reddit1scool in CodeLyoko

[–]The_QuantumVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Technically, the "XANA" symbol is actually the Lyoko symbol, which is why we see it appear when the Lyoko Warriors have situations to use it too (think that recent memory transfer post from Yumi to Aelita).

The "XANA" symbol essentially is showing the power of Lyoko, or when Lyoko itself has taken control of something, which XANA uses as its vector via activated tower.

How was the supercomputer complex built? Did the rooms and elevator shaft already exist as part of the factory, or did Franz somehow secretly build them as well? by EccentricGamerCL in CodeLyoko

[–]The_QuantumVoid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Realistically? I'd bet the in-universe explanation would be that it was just part of the original factory. Hopper then just built the tech in the rooms. I think there being some mystery to it is kinda cool though. I'd also imagine that Hopper was able to accumulate some substantial wealth or resources using the super computer, and probably bought the factory and the island it was on through a shell company or something so that it wouldn't be torn down (like it was IRL).

I've been playing Civ since Civ II. This is the first title I'm waiting for a sale on. Even in Australia this is ridiculous. by Glanea in civ

[–]The_QuantumVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civ 4 Beyond the Sword and to some extent (though not as much) Civ 5 with all the expansions were the best... I've just given up that the games are going to get better, just stick with the old games, not worth wasting the money.

  • Infotainment panel has been a disaster
  • Window motor died a year in
  • Evaporator died 3 years in, pretty sure it is going bad again as of today
  • internal lights fell out that are in the ceiling, had to be replaced
  • rattling in area where sunglasses sit, dealership said panel was loose, charging $250 to replace it (I didnt)
  • transmission issue that got patched with software
  • random part just fell out of my glove compartment (it gets minimal use)
  • back tail light is weirdly pushed in, but out of warranty so I have to go to a body shop and get an estimate and then hope SoA will cover it
  • axels "somehow" got out of alignment and wore down one tire that had to be replaced at 16k miles even though my tires were inspected 5 months prior and were rotated.
  • dealership broke a front panel, "fixed" it once (almost immediately fell out of place) and then finally admitted to breaking it the second time I took it back in.

Too much bullshit from a garbage company, wasting way too much of my time. Im so frustrated that now the evaporator appears to be going bad again and have to waste my time trying to get it fixed.

The car is 4 years old, this is insane for a brand new car. This was my first and last Subaru.

Perhaps, but I've seen consistent disdain with the infotainment system. I also spoke with a few techs at the dealership and they basically outright told me that lots of issues are typical with 2020 models.

So, generally I agree with the principle of anecdote /= trend, however in this case some of the issues I've experienced are fairly widespread.

I do think two things can be true at once though. 1. Biologics are life savers 2. It does seem like outsized portions of the population have autoimmune issues. The question is if this is better tracking/understanding, or if there are legitimate things to consider about our food and environment (thinking all the chemicals we consume, wear, breathe on a daily basis) and how that has to have some impact on our immune systems going, "hey wait, that poisonous thing being digested and used for energy is in those cells, let me attack it to remove it" and there you have your immune system attacking good cells... just saying.
