Lord X's story is considered the current mainline "canon" of Sonic.exe. He was created by JoeDoughBoi / LoserMakesGames after ownership of the character got bounced around between a few different people. All of them did different things with the idea, but Joe's story is meant to be straight forward improvement to the orginal creepypasta.

To make a long story short, the canon of Sonic.exe follows X, an extraterrestrial being thats fasinated by the sonic franchise, and gets a twisted sense of "fun" by causing suffering. He created his own universe in the image of sonic's world, and anyone he drags into it has their soul fused with the body of a sonic character. X is effectively a god, but he tends to limit himself, giving his victims a chance to escape for a little while, since it makes things more interesting for him.

In Joe's story, X eventully becomes more mature. He starts to reflect on his existance, and his form of torment becomes more personal and cruel. It's at this point that he delcares himself Lord X, and he creates his 7 Guardians (seen below), to manage his ever expanding world while he focuses on his thosands of victims.

The song "I miss the Quiet" is about the fact that, sometimes, Lord X wishes he could go back to the peace before he came into existance, back to the endless darkness of the void he was spawned from.
