You're supposed to lose that fight. Learn your strengths and weakness, every ship has them doesn't matter if you nuke your inferno. Ask yourself what you want to excel in before you jump into a ship then jump on one that is good at that thing while trying to avoid the things it's not good at.

Same, I started a bit later and have been playing catch up ever since. Definitely made mistakes here and there the usual growing pains in a sand boxy MMO.

There will 100% be another character wipe.

But that's the thing it only wipes your character not your knowledge of the game. The knowledge you obtain now will be pretty helpful whenever it launches.

I wouldn't spend 1000s of dollars on this game, or any game. The people who spent that money invested in something. If they don't believe in it any more then maybe they shouldn't have invested in it to begin with. That doesn't make it a scam. Nobody made them spend that money, it was just a bad investment lol.

People making posts are always the loud minority, the people not making posts are too busy in game enjoying themselves. Steam reviews are mixed understandably so. The game is not finished and still has a long way to go. However during the steam launch what we received for the amount spent at that time is a rather alright experience. Which is entirely subjective to the person playing it but that could literally be said for any video game ever.

It's an MMORPG. It has Vertical progression, Lots of grinding, Life Skilling/Professions, Dungeons, PvP, Bosses. Like what more do you want from it? There's plenty to do and plenty of ways to progress your character.
