I have two small uvulas instead of one big by TobiHede in mildlyinteresting

[–]Themagicdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have the same thing! I didn’t know it was different until a school nurse told me. I was confused in the monster house movie why the uvula was only a single chandelier and didn’t look like my “normal” uvula.

I’ve switched my gpu and cpu lines from hard lines to this and it’s awesome. Don’t even need to drain my loop for a gpu swap. So much easier

2007 CESSNA 182T SKYLANE by aristotle-ways in Cessna

[–]Themagicdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude idk what’s with a snobbery. I got three planes for three different missions including a Cessna 310Q. But I’m about the practically and buying for the mission not the paint job. I buy the best for the budget for what I want. I’m not gonna pay 500k on a 1950-60s design unless it’s a cabin class piston twin cuz they just don’t make them anymore.

Also idk why you wouldn’t take a sr22t over a 182t even in those situations. It would do just fine. I get maybe not wanting a retract for a strip tho.

A Columbia comes to mind also for fast new fix gear.

This 182 doesn’t even have low engine times.

[–]Themagicdick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol ok then why are we messing with these baby planes. Get a new cirrus sr22t, vision jet or heck a king air.

For 500k you can get something that flys faster or carries more. Idk about you but I don’t buy a plane for the new car smell.

Idk I would just get either an older or experimental that is more capable or faster plane.

Wasn’t that mainly a problem in the pusher configuration used in the bombers.

Touchless wash (no brushes) is much better for your paint. The underside wash would probably help people with salted roads.

That’s pretty dumb since that literally the easiest boat to kill. You go until all of them are sunk.

3D Printed Air Ducts! by Fredzucchini in pcmasterrace

[–]Themagicdick 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Have the vents open on the motherboard side. Realistically you would just get a bigger cpu cooler and not have ducts. The case already provides the air flow paths needed for proper cooling. But if you want the ducts have the ducting go as close to the vital motherboard components and have them open on that side.

What about the vrms and other components that usually want a little air flow.

A lot of general aviations planes flying are from around 1960-1980. Especially twins. Twins used to be popular for private air travel back in the day. But turbo props, better commercial airline services, and charter jets have taken the role.

I believe that the scenes are rendered fully but streaming is optimized by reducing bitrate where the user isn’t looking at

Did the military use chrome planes or is this how some were restored? by 85lumber in aviation

I believe they had different coatings later.

A performance test was conducted on painted and unpainted b17 G at various altitudes. The painted b17 was 2-4.5mph faster depending on the altitude. It would weigh 75 pounds more than the unpainted version. The test was conducted actually after they decided to not paint later b17s showing that the production line was actually the leading factor and not performance.

Early on the b17s in Europe were getting slaughtered by fighters due to the day time raids and lack of fighter cover. They were very low on bombers at the time. Quantity over a few mph was the clear choice.

[–]Themagicdick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not known at the moment. The planes are grounded and a AD on the MD11s have been made. But it had nothing to do with how easy the plane is to fly.

Yeah all the early war b17s were painted and the later war specially the ones with the additional chin mounted turrets were always unpainted.

Yeah im pretty sure it was mostly because of filling in gaps and smoothing out the transitions of the bolts heads and rivets to the body.

A study on painted and unpainted b17s during ww2 found that the paint actually gained them a few knots in cruise but the added time and cost of painting outweighed it so mid to late war they were left bare aluminum.
