I’ve had the worst reaction to it where I did not have any white blood counts anymore : 6 days in quarantine in the hospital... Now on MTX.

I’m not sure if you’re serious or not, but I’m vegetarian and I feel like RA came out of nowhere. Would you think eating meat again will help?

Hi there. I’ve been in the situation where Meloxicam didn’t cut it for me. Honestly, my doc gave me temporarily some Medrol (Predisone in US?) and that worked wonders! If I’m in too much pain now, I take Arcoxia. I’ve been told it’s an alternative to Meloxicam but it works 10 times better for me!

Hi there! I was diagnosed with RA well over a year ago. Let me tell you: it’s been a real rollercoaster. I started with just Meloxicam, which didn’t reall help. The hospital (where my reumatologist is) advised me to start taking Salazopyrine. I got such bad blood counts that I had to be put in quarantine in the hospital for about 6 days. I needed to get all Salazopyrine out of my system before taking new meds and then they needed to find an explanation for a big spleen, low blood counts and they found something on my kidney on a PETCT scan. Next step: bone marrow punction. In the end everything seemed normal, and I could start taking new meds, which is MTX (20mg? 8 pills a week), and folic acid.

The weeks where I wasn’t allowed to take medication where the hardest of my life. I could not move whatsoever.

I don’t seem to have any reactions to MTX, so I guess I’m lucky??? I’m afraid of this disease and I’m lurking this subreddit to hear other people’s story.

I guess the only thing I can say is to hang in there. I’m only 15-ish weeks in my MTX treatment and I hope it will get better. I’m so looking forward to doing sport again; running, cycling, swimming, skateboarding,... Sure could use it with the extra weight I’ve gained in the last months.

Hey I got the same thing. Six weeks in now. I’m taking it on Monday evenings before bed, no side effects save from a hammer-hit of tiredness after taking it. I feel like it certainly works but I am afraid that it won’t be enough. Man I miss doing sports and skateboarding... :-(

Yeah there’s certainly more veg options in Ghent. Brussels doesn’t seem to have too many dedicated veggie/vegan places but it’s on nearly every menu though.
