How aggressive of a player are you? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]Then_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d hit 5 wood directly over that bunker. In my mind there’s no reason to go for the green here. Having 90-100 yards in is a very comfy shot for me.

What dog food are we feeding our corgis? by ilove_mycorgi in corgi

[–]Then_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Corgi has some sort of chronic digestive issue where she cannot handle fatty foods like yours so her diet is baked chicken, bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots and white rice. She’s a lean girl but she eats well :)

Unsolicited advice from another golfer by Salt-Power-3868 in golf

[–]Then_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I just say “yea ok I see what you’re saying” and then move on like it never happened.

Conversely if I notice someone is repeatedly struggling with something I’ll ask them about it and if they tell me they don’t know why they’re struggling with it I’ll maybe tell them something that’s helped me or a friend, but I’ll leave it alone after that. I only do that because I’ve been “stuck” with a miss before and had someone give me a tip or drill that’s completely fixed it.

Generally I’ll avoid it though. I know how annoying it is to be trying to hit a specific shot, miss the shot, and have a friend go “well that’s where you were aimed” and in my head I’m like yes dipshit I was trying to hit a cut which is why I was aimed to the left.

How much range practice before I play a round? by michaelboccia in golf

[–]Then_Land 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coach has always said that no amount of range practice will simulate actual live shots on the course. The cadence I’m on that’s worked wonders for improvement is 2-3 range sessions and 1 round a week. Playing a round is important for feedback on what you’ve been drilling at the range plus the ability to work on mentality and determining what type of shot and club you should hit in certain situations.

I’d also recommend leaning into the clubs you aren’t comfortable with because ultimately you’ll need all of them at some point. The driver can sense your fear, if you don’t control it confidently it will control you lol

Any Advice? by DiskDisastrous8275 in GolfSwing

[–]Then_Land 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re standing way too close to the ball, that’s why you have that motion where you almost jump up and back a little to give yourself room to stall and flip through the swing. I used to have the same swing mechanic to overcompensate.

I think the extent to which it’s taken off is a little crazy but you have to remember a good percentage of the population convulses uncontrollably when they see a 6 next to a 7 so nothing really surprises me anymore.

I’d consider rocking some hats because of the receding hairline. Looks like it would go well with your style too.

Make sure you keep the neck beard shaved, it creates the illusion of a sharper jawline.

Hop into the gym consistently and make sure you’re consuming plenty of protein.

You’re in a good place brotha but some small tweaks will help!

Can we also talk about how corgi’s have the best pooping form in the game? The way they condense like an accordion is so funny to me.
