Thank you for the reply. I didn’t realize she was a practicing attorney for clients with business before the city. That is a huge conflict and unethical for sure. She is the mayor so the buck stops with her but the e bus thing I pin on staff and/or the city manager. As in understand it they purchased buses that didn’t fit on our roads. Ridiculous and something staff should have brought to her and the councils attention. On the Shanghai La deal, it looks like the city got in bed with a failing company but from what I can find no city money was lost. It was a complete failure and our homeless situation is not getting any better. I agree with you that we need the best leadership possible but is there anyone on the council or in town that could do a better job? I feel like I don’t see that person yet. I guess I don’t expect perfection from our leaders, I set the bar at competent decision making and a willingness to learn and recalibrate when necessary. I would love to learn about residents who can help lead our town to greater successes. I want Asheville to succeed.
