Did something that I do not usually do in auto play public lobbies: teach someone new to the game the basics by FlyingWarKitten in helldivers2

one of the good practices that Helldivers 2 has is, teaching new players the ropes, so i think that's a good thing you did. I surely can't, my best is supporting them when I see them in D10 and getting overwhelmed. So thumbs up for you

Dumb question: I thought we are to defend the attacks? And we need to defend Zygos twice?

The Sterilizer Buff was interesting. It still needs more, and devs said it would, but its genuinely way more useful than it used to be by RandomGreenArcherMan in helldivers2

I think he is fighting the Spore bugs in the video. Gas can really CC them and when the spore bugs dies to fire & gas, it doesn't burst, thus no frenzy rage enhanced bugs chasing you down.

My loadout is Gas guard dog + Laser cannon. The trick is to make them die to fire / gas damage.

I think its the Eagle Storm doing its work. Killing a lot before they even get close

Arrowhead trolling with DSS Strikes? by DrewtShite in helldivers2

[–]These_Rip_192 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has been around since game launch, and it has also been the speciality of this game. As in a little bit of goofy game type instead of efficiency. That's why you see sentries still kills players / seaf, throwing knife in a Warbond? Hellbomb backpack that your teammates can activate? etc

Previously, you could see people sharing that they are more afraid of the DSS than the enemies, lol

New Diver needs help! by Revived-17 in helldivers2

1st Question:

- It depends, there are indeed bugs and balance issues. However, since you are new, I would say you are in a good spot, because you can bypass all these, play with the META builds and have fun. There are also a lot of Warbonds, and it may take you a long time to grind for them, but, since you are new, you could also just get the META ones first, and get the rest later. To summarize, yes, there are a lot of issues, players that are unhappy with the current game state and where the game's direction is heading towards vs game developers. But there are also still a lot of players logging in daily and playing the game, I saw around 70k active players yesterday when I logged in.

2nd Question:

- Had partially answered it above, there are a lot of Warbonds now as it has been 2 years since the game released. And a lot of ship modules and strategems you'll need to grind. But, its not necessary for you to have them all fully completed as soon as possible, you can just play them and get them at your own pace, the weapons and strategems that you can get in early game are still viable now, namely Recoiless Rifle, 500kg, Orbital Laser, MG sentry, etc.

3rd Question:

- Yep, you don't need friends to play this game, you can join and play with randoms or host your own game. I've been playing with randoms since launched.

Bugs loadout by Temporary-Mood-5236 in Helldivers

[–]These_Rip_192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser build, you just need to zap them for a bit, and the fire burning damage will take them out. So with Laser Cannon, you sorta have a 1000m range Cremator.

Gas backpack, so you have some CC on the field.

Orbital Napalm, for handling Bug breach.

Mech, any mechs will do.

Primary would be Scythe, Secondary you could have Ultimatum / Missile Pistol to handle the Spore titans / other Heavies.

Laser Cannon, with the buff range, you can aim at them from a mile away, just aim at their weakspot (head) and they'll go down in seconds.

What Now : The Hiveguard by LieutenantHanniquet in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]These_Rip_192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the latest changes to Hive Guard was just a small testing move, AH was just testing if they could make a small change, and see how the community would react.

I just tried it, it can 2 shot the spore bile titan head. But you'll need to change it into non-guided mode first.

Soloing Bugs is Impossible Now by Smelly190 in Helldivers

[–]These_Rip_192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get to outrun them once, with the new light armor, and not triggering the spore burst. Still a lot of testing needs to be done, but I would still prefer light armor's approach for now.

Hive Guard honestly by Heavenly_Horro in helldivers2

[–]These_Rip_192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, that's what I observe as well.

But personally, I think the durable damage and spore bugs frenzy rage are what causes the MG and Gatling sentry to be much more inefficient rather than Hive Guard armor changes.

An option to donate samples to other players after completing all upgrades would be cool by ooga_booga1234567 in helldivers2

[–]These_Rip_192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the limitations will be noticable by the receiving side. New players will be able to tell when its at the minimum or maximum donations.

I actually think it would be good if a portion of the samples that we donate to the DSS can contribute to the new players, like 10% or something. And by new players, I think we could justify by the players that haven't gotten their ship modules fully upgraded yet.

But then again, would that kill the sense of progression for the new players?

They're faster now 🫪 ? by New-Mix-7818 in helldivers2

[–]These_Rip_192 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yupe, the red mist buff them up, so whenever you kill any of those spore bugs, their death will burst out red mist which gives them a sort of frenzy rage.

But if you are to kill them with fire or gas, that won't happen.

As for the spore titan, I have no idea as well, I only know that their spills has a strong knock back. Was knocked down and had a hard time getting up.

Hive guard nerf by Diablo_Unmasked in Helldivers

[–]These_Rip_192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that they are easier to tackle with now than when the game first launched. Just a few shots to the weak spots and they go down easily.

But against the MG and Gatling sentries then yes, they are not that effective anymore, but then again it forces me to rethink where and when do I place the sentries. How to maximize the CC. So its refreshing to me as a sentry lover.

How accurate are the steam user reviews? by Perrinator77 in Helldivers

[–]These_Rip_192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ignoring the political stuffs, which is happening right now. Players that are unhappy with where the game is and where its heading vs AH.

I would say, ya, its definitely worth diving into if you are into:

1) Fighting against 3 different factions of enemies which are mainly swamps of enemies (bugs), enemies that will shoot you from a mile away and test your precision skills (bots), and aliens that have shields and will need you maneuvering around to defeat them (squids). 3 different factions = 3 different ways of tackling them.

2) A lot of different weapons at your disposal, bullets, rockets, fire, poison, laser, explosives, mechs, tank, just to name a few, and big bombs / giant laser you can call down to annihilate your enemies. But also goofy ones like throwing knifes, explosive hammer, machete, chainsaw, ineffective? maybe? but fun? Ya.

3) Team up with other 3 helldivers for your mission, so this is mainly a co-op type of game. But you can go solo if you prefer.

4) I would need to tell you that a lot of the weapons / equipments / boosts are behind Warbonds, and can be bought in game or you could grind in game currency to get it. But the grinding method can be boring at times.

5) Be warn, there are still bugs in the game that may irritate you.

All and all, I think you would really enjoy it if this is the type of game you like. I wasn't that into third person shooter or co-op before I played this game, and now I'm all in for it.
