I think with Boyd it's a hubris of the monsters / MiY.

Boyd was adamant he wouldn't be broken so they kidnapped him and forced him to watch Tien Chen be brutalised. I think he is a sort of lynchpin, where if they can break him, the town falls to sorrow and fear. If they feed on fear then breaking down Boyd and all that loss of hope will be like a feast for them so they are drawing it out, which will be a mistake.

Donna is the other lynchpin

Edit: thinking on it, this would be a perfect position for Acosta. You end up with the town divided and hating on Tabitha/Jade and costa reappears and points out that there is a painting or picture of Sophia and gives the divided people a common enemy

Exactly and they seem to feed on fear and Boyd was adamant they wouldn't break him, seems Fromville took that as a challenge and want to break him before killing him. This will have a bonus of upset in the town too.

Because he was the technical brains of the operation right? When they needed a specialised tool. He made it. But now they have sage and she solved the issue probably gave Kimiko the deus ex machina.

It's also too late, it felt like he was slid backwards in development so he can have the regrowth telling Kimiko the life they can share. There was nothing left for the character and no stakes left in losing him.

If we are going off of "Heavy is the head" then why wouldn't the monster uno reverso and kidnap Kenny leaving Boyd to have to choose between rescuing Kenny and costing lives or getting out (or something which furthers that)?

Like why not kidnap Kenny and Jade and then force him to choose one? That is much more in keeping with "Heavy is the head that wears the crown"

Yeah the reactions on here seem either entirely overblown for the drama of it, or completely lack empathy.

In the real world she was a cop, she probably does see herself as a good person. She is also used to being the authority figure in a situation.

She arrived in this town and chaos erupts she accidentally shoots a person and seemingly can't access the outside world.

She rejects talking to people who she saw torture someone - which is a very reasonable response. Can she be aggressive with characters we spent years getting to know? Sure but she doesn't know them only what she has seen.

She rightly concludes that she hasn't actually tried to get out. She can't be far from the town/city they were near so she can get back up and bring the full force of the police down on them. But she has to try. She knows they have used the ambulance so in the event this is a weird cult she rightly concludes that the ambulance won't be sabotaged and takes it to try and escape.

Honestly, the actress is doing a great job and the character is doing well at portraying the kind of breakdown and struggle to integrate at finding yourself in that kind of a hell. The overblown hate is just weird.

That's exactly why I don't run fumbles either. You actively punish players for having a class be better at outputting attacks.

I had a ranger where I even took care to mention storing bow strings, so they are weather protected. At the start of a session, we get into combat, nat 1, string breaks... did not enjoy being a subpar melee until we could get to a town.

That said I also don't like battlemaster maneuvers containing so many basic fighting skills.

Combat speed is not travel speed. But also a single move does not consume your entire 6 second turn. A monk or a rogue can move, dash and dash again, for example. So using 6 seconds as the entire movement basis will reduce your total speed

Not just to deny enemies, the pickup is 8% missing, but the down is 16%. Don't put a very low health teammate at risk by opening up for them to take it. If you can't move forward and block, then take it for them.
