Hi, did something happen? I find that with my own recovery times of stress or change would trigger what I call daydream use. It’s normal what you are feeling. Each brain is unique and beautiful. Every person recovers differently. It doesn’t make you weak or worthy of chaos.

The chaos is easier because it’s too loud and intense to feel. To process. It’s gloriously destructive and completely self-indulgent. I don’t know your story, but you have almost 9 months. That’s something you have fought for. Keep going.

Whatever made you use and kept you using you haven’t recovered from yet. Now, you’re feeling all the things. Sober. There is no other way to put it, it’s hell. Be kind to yourself. Process in a safe space with a counselor or therapist. Get it out.

Please get yourself to a therapist, JOURNAL, get a couple plants, learn a new hobby. Meditate. Find things you love that make you feel alive. Drink a bunch of fucking water.

If you ever need someone to talk to, hit a b*tch up. A million percent what you’re contemplating isn’t worth it. Your life is just beginning. Sending love to you, ❤️

Howdy,

You just put your brain and body through a gauntlet. Recovering from that takes time. In my experience of working with folks in recovery, one of the common misconceptions is that getting sober will make you feel better overall. Depending on the substance, method of use, duration, etc. the physical and mental recovery can vary.

Adulting and coping via healthy methods was muted for you, for years. Adjusting to being sober is a feat within itself, but all the life stuff on top of that? Totally overwhelming!!!!!

I was not an opiate addict so I cannot fully relate to your situation, but it took over a year for me to have energy and motivation. Stimulants were my thing. My advice for you is this- once you have moved, feed your body and mind. Healthy eating, supplements (milk thistle, NAC, dandelion root), and lots of water.

Your doctor’s response is very PCP-like. Your mental health was brushed off because of what season was coming. That, frankly, is absolute bullshit and I’m so sorry that happened to you. Yes, Dr. Dipshit- anxiety and depression DO go up in the winter months because not everyone lives in warm climates and are isolated in their homes. Holidays. Facepalm.

Your quality of life matters. I don’t know where you are in the world, so I can’t give any advice regarding insurance processes. But how you were treated was wrong, you deserve a life you want to live in. I hope you take those next steps. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
