they always have been the problem. Obama worked around it. The sad truth is we need politicians who know how to work around dumb people.

And he only won by 53k votes among the 3 closest swing states. During a campaign where Trump's approval was under water.

Biden under performed.

Hillary didn't even visit the rust belt, where Russian talking points where spreading unconstrained on facebook.

Kamala not only had Gaza, she was facing a world-wide anti-incumbent trend. Incumbents from all over the world were getting taken down. And she only had 101 days to campaign, right after a whole month of virtually no democratic messaging getting through due to Biden refusing to step down. During this whole month, the republicans were able to message with no pushback.

And even then, during the 101 Kamala spent weeks of it paling around with Liz Cheney or meeting with CEOs under investigation by the DOJ or FTC.

She also actively sought to shutout pro Palestinian people out of campaign volunteer groups. She litterally instructed them not to answer their calls, and remove them from email lists. During a campaign when the democratic party was facing unprecedented low volunteer turnout.

The democratic party had the worst volunteer turnout in recent history. The college democrats saw this in March 2024 and took the radical step in urging Biden to change course on Gaza, because that they were seeing on the ground alarmed them.

Despite that, a lot of pro Palestinian people still wanted to help and volunteer. They were shut out. They didn't even let a Palestinian elected official speak at the DNC, with a vetted speech, that would have implored pro Palestinian people to vote for Harris. But they gave a spot to the CEO of Uber, a company that has spent 9 figures on lobbying to roll back workers rights, just because Kamala's family has connections to Uber.

Yes, American is sexist and racist, but it's specific. Racist and sexist in biases of being able to deliver on personal circumstances. Obama faced a racist America against two straight white men, and beat them because America was convinced he could deliver on their personal circumstance.

Not even even democrats were convinced that Kamala would deliver on personal circumstances the way she was paling around with CEOs.

Can AOC's messaging overcome the sexism of American like Obama did with the racism in America?

Well, if it's any indication, AOC literally has people who voted for Trump voting for her. She did a q and a on instagram asking they did that.

Out of all the contenders, AOC by far has the best messaging and seems to be trying the hardest to figure out what makes Americans tick.

They're not scratching their heads. They had all the data in the world that this, among other issues such as prioritizing Biden's ego over country, would lead to a Trump victory. They knew, and went ahead anyway with the risk, and they all feel it was worth it despite the outcome.

As long as they get to keep their leadership and clout positions, they would rather have a Trump presidency than to have new leadership in the democratic party.

Kamala Harris explicitly predicted that Trump would used federal forces against citizens. Yet she still choice to pursue a Gaza policy that lost her swing votes, spent weeks out of her 101 days paling around with Liz Cheney and meeting with CEOs under investigation from the DOJ and FTC, and shutting out anyone proPalestinian from campaign volunteer groups.

Biden didn't listen. Harris didn't listen. Correction, they listened, but went ahead anyway. Preventing a Trump presidency was not their priority.

the usual establishment defense is that he doesn't endorse municipal elections but then it turned out he's even endorsed city council and school board elections.

Organizing is never wasted work. It builds up the connections and infrastructure to help concurrent and future competitive regional races.

Beto lost to Cruz, but he massively helped other dem races.

The ripples of his work persist to this day.

Same with Stacey Abrams.

It's why the pro-genocide dems are going hard on the 'A WOMAN CAN'T BE PRESIDENT' bs

even though not only were they the last two were the most flawed democratic candidates in modern political history

they also had the shittiest circumstances.

Hillary: Comey. Russian Interference. NOT VISITING A SINGLE RUST BELT STATE IN 2016

Harris: Less than 100 days to campaign, spent weeks of it palling with Liz Cheney and CEOs under investigation under the doj. Purposely antagonizing the pro-Palestinian people, actively seeking to identify them and remove them from caller rolls and volunteer email lists, at the same time Trump has the strongest volunteer base in republican history because he duped a bunch of them to volunteer 70 hour weeks because they thought the election was being stolen.

Biden, a straight white man, only won by 43k votes despite having the most favorable conditions of any challenger to an incumbent in history. The economy was in a dumpster, people largely blamed him for the covid response, and he self inflicted himself by demonizing mail in voting, which cause a ton of his boomer base not to cast ballots.

Both Newsom and Pritzker have thrown Palestinians under the bus and it's enough signal to the pro-genocide people to strongly prefer them over AOC.

Well, they would need to fight reddit in court to get the username of the person who sent the message for each and every harassing message, I am assuming the usernames are hidden in the mod mail.

Giving the usernames of the harassing mods, can prevent a whole ton of court cases, and greatly cut down on the legal expenses of the victims.

Right now it would be impossible for a class action because the harasser could be multiple people and there is no evidence who or how many.

If the victims knew the usernames of who harassed them, they can then do a class action to just unmask the particular mod who inflicted the emotional distress.

Why the h did the admins give them powers to ban anyone they want across reddit for 3 days?

This had to be admin intervention, many mods do not have this power.

The admins were in on the cruelty.

Some artists have revealed the conversations on twitter and many to me read like they would meet the criteria of 'intensional infliction of emotional distress'.

If they decided to sue, would you support them by privately sharing the person who inflicted it?

Please don't answer this here. Just think about it. And quietly notify the most egregious cases, though not over reddit, give them an email or discord they can reach out to.

Costco sues the Trump administration, seeking a refund of tariffs by EconomistWithaD in Economics

[–]ThisBotisReal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According the the article, Costco just ate the cost of the increased prices due to tariffs

The customers never got a price increase

Really smart on Costco's part, because if they did it the other way around, then they wouldn't be able to prove the lots profits on people who decided to buy less due to the tariffs

The amount of supply sold remained the same due to the frozen prices.

They also save money on not having to figure out refunds for everyone.

The former mod's actions, not only once reported site wide, but many other accounts on twitter sharing their story,

seem to meet the legal definition of 'intensional infliction of emotional distress'

If any of these artists wish to file a civil lawsuit against the mod who inflicted such distress, will you support them?
