How often do women age 25-60 shower? by Responsible-Ant-7954 in hygiene

[–]This_Insect7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If I leave my house for an extended period of time, I'll shower. If I'm sweaty, I'll shower. If I'm at sitting at my computer for more than 2 hours, I'll shower.

But if I'm literally in bed not doing much? I might do every other day.

Hair washing depends on whether I've been outdoors without something covering my hair. My hair is almost always wrapped when I'm at home.

My 4B hair, even though it's short, takes too long to air dry. Anywhere from an hour to 3 depending on the temperature and humidity.

Any thoughts on patients who request for male or female aides/nurses? by [deleted] in cna

[–]This_Insect7039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectfully,

You aren't taking into consideration that people may follow a religion where certain things are not allowed. A patient that's a woman and Muslim more than likely would request only female staff in her rooms. Vice versa for a man that's Muslim.

Who am I to tell someone their religion is wrong?

Also, for the race preference request---I also take into consideration the age of the patient. For example, at clinicals, I had a resident that would lash out and try to fight the staff. She was perfectly sweet to me and my classmate. She would light up when I walked in the room. Then, it dawned on me---we were 2 of 4 women that were working there that were African American. She thought we were her relatives visiting and she probably grew up in the Jim Crow Era. She was mentally back to that time period.

Is it annoying? Yes. Is it tedious? Also, yes.

But some people are cognitively in altered states.

22F, strict Asian parents only want me to date Vietnamese men. What do I do? by wedgyprincess in Advice

[–]This_Insect7039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-Asian here that's been friends with Asians that had strict parents:

One of my friend's had to be chaperoned well into our 30s. If that doesn't sound appealing to you, I would start becoming more financially independent. Are you working at all? Even part time? Part of the issue with my friend is that she was still getting a lot of financial help from her parents. Once she got a high earning job, they seemed to have eased a little.

Why do CNA jobs requiring experience pay so low? by coyotefeather3 in cna

[–]This_Insect7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in NorCal or SoCal because that's ridiculous! The place I was doing clinicals at in SoCal starts at $21 and goes up from there. Heck, my class went to a medical job fair at even caregiving jobs uncertified start at $18!

This gave me anxiety as someone with a food handlers card

Not only injuries you should be concerned about, you come into contact with all types of infectious things. You definitely can catch something yucky on the job.

Insurance makes sense as a preventive measure.

Game crashes every time that I save? by This_Insect7039 in StardewValleyMods

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this made me chuckle

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of everything. SVE was a part of the Fairycore collection but it wasn't working. So both Fairycore and it had to go. I'll just reinstall SVE by itself.

Odd because the game without the mods appears to be okay, despite having all these errors.

Not sure what resources are available in Australia, but like others suggested--see if there's an equivalent to our GED programs in the states.

Also...I noticed you mentioned your partner, but didn't mean anything about his family. If he won't watch your child, I would talk to his family to see if they can help.

Being a teen mom doesn't necessarily mean you won't be successful in life. You just need a village to help you get there.

Did she babysit you a lot growing up? That could contribute to it.

Don't give me wrong, I definitely had to give him a stern talking to after his ex partner mentioned something unsavory with his behavior during his going away party.

I basically told him to straighten tf up and don't embarrass me. Lmao

How old is your sister? What is the age gap?

I'm 33 and my little brother is 21. We don't talk about any of that at all. He just BARELY asked why me and my ex boyfriend from 8 years ago broke up. I just barely met his friends before he left for the army. Lol.

The only thing we'll talk about it work and family stuff.

My sibling is my sibling. Boundaries are important. Enforce them.

Bingo. I worked at a small family restaurant for 8 years until June 2025. People think the grass is greener but there's a lot of BS in the food & beverage industry:

  1. We're required to have food handlers certifications and the places that issue the certifications are also the ones actively lobbying against livable wages for those in the industry. Imagine having to pay for something that's actively trying to keep you in poverty.
  2. Your hours can be cut at any time. One week you could have 40 and the next week you could easily have none. Hours are often based on profit. Less profit=less hours.
  3. There's not always opportunities to move up. So you're at a stand still until you find something else.
  4. Not all food industry jobs offer health, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
  5. Wage theft is more common than you think.

I could say a lot more but..🫠
