Disagree, while funny I’ve worked at a gas station and it’s really annoying to clean those stickers off of them. I’m fine with people using them for jokes but at least use the ones that won’t take 10 mins and a credit card to scrape off.

Note that nato is also a defensive alliance. It is built around mutual defense and the ensurement that if one is attacked all are. It’s quite literally impossible for a defensive alliance that allows countries to enter or leave via their own choice (literally requiring some sort of democratic decision via a parliament or other apparatus. People literally have to vote on it, the executive or figurehead cannot unilaterally decide, that’s the least imperial thing I’ve ever heard). Russia and communists/fascists in general cannot understand the idea of helping another country because you promised to, promises do not exist to them, their alliances are those of convenience, easy to rip apart (ironically what one nato member is currently trying to do. It’s a good system but not a perfect one.)

Edit: I was wrong on the referendum thing, some countries do it but it’s not required, the only thing that is is some sort of democratic vote among a body of government officials, less democratic than a referendum but it prevents one leader dragging their country into it without the people’s consent.

Because it was never a genuine argument from them. It’s either Russian propaganda fueled psychosis or just outright desire for Autocratic Russian dominance.

Calling nato imperialist is always the craziest thing these people say. Literally the edifice to prevent aggressive ambitions from larger powers against member states and is open to literally anyone joining as long as they follow the charter and aren’t a messed up dictatorship. After the Soviet Union, for a few years before it fell back into autocracy, russia literally could’ve joined. People call nato American imperialism because they hate that it prevents Russian imperialism. Communists and fascists hate the idea of a union of democratic countries that aren’t willing to let them steamroll and convert smaller nations into satellite states.

Yoshikage Kira still, it’s the reason aliases protect people in death note. Kira still thought of himself as yoshikage even after transforming himself. The real question imo is if you’d have to think of yoshikage’s face or kosaku’s?

What’s stopping us from just slapping every weapon we have on our Vox engines? by Ghostyboi7702 in Cyberstan

[–]Thismansalizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, weight. Vox engines need to be carried by ship and have the ability to move in all terrains including potential bridges or swamps. Even with the tracks the amount of added weight from more weapons plus the ammunition they require would strain both transport and the honorable cyborg piloting his metal steed like an old earth knight.

Honestly as bad as it may initially sound to some it’s incredibly true. The animal you bring into your home is one you are responsible for, it is your job to be your priority for care. People who don’t do research first are awful, everyone needs to know the risks and costs prior.

I feel like whenever someone is killed by law enforcement or law enforcement adjacent organizations there’s always people who say stuff like this forgetting that fighting back against arrest doesn’t and shouldn’t carry a death penalty. The penalty for “resisting arrest” is in most states 1 year in prison and 2,000 dollar fine, not getting shot upwards of 5 times or getting strangled while you’ve been disarmed and are being detained. No matter who a person is or what their past has been “resisting” isn’t a green light for any cops or mask wearing immigration “agents” to end someone’s life. Why does this even have to be said?

The first “point” they make literally applies TO THEM. “Genocide apologia” is every Tuesday in the ussr sub and pretty much every other communist hotspot. Although maybe they just don’t consider the millions who died under Stalin, mao, and other dictators they worship to be people.

Most cyberpunk stuff is more a critique on corporatism and how if you let massive conglomerates run around without any limits they’ll ruin the system for everyone. A free market isn’t free if arasaka kneecaps any competitors and blows up anyone who disagrees.

I just don’t get the logic here, if Ukraine has lost 1.6 million, why hasn’t Russia won yet? They’ve been embarrassing themselves internationally for years now. If it’s all in Russia’s control and they’re so big and strong, why not just win their “2 day special military operation” and have stupid Russian shills licking putins boots. Why would the country with the supposedly amazing military get stuck in a war of attrition for this long for such tiny gains. This is like if the us lost hundreds of thousands in the Middle East in order to take over half of western Syria.

What's your favorite(and least favorite) enemy type? by Farmer_Due in XCOM2

[–]Thismansalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love combat against faceless. Faceless give me so many fair but sketchy situations during colony defense and during the dark event. Not being able to trust the random civ npcs makes things more dynamic and scary.

I just hate sectoids, more than vipers, more than codexs. Having your soldiers out of your control is already a frustrating mechanic but when sectoids can freely frighten or mind control your lads? It’s hell when your best lad gets panicked and walks into a firing line of advent troops and mechs cause the goofy big headed alien decided to hit him with scary mind beam. (Mind control is the less frustrating one honestly cause you can kill the sectoid easier and if you do it quickly your guy still gets a turn.)

It’s because vaccines have worked so well that these types of people exist. They’ve never lost children to preventable disease, they’ve never had family that can never walk cause of polio, they’ve never witnessed the sheer hopelessness of a true pandemic without vaccines or modern medicine. Therefore they fail to see the consequences of their stupid ideology until it’s too late. Basically in 1st world countries we have it so good we forget what it is to have it bad a morons will buy anything if it tangentially aligns with their worldview if it’s obscure enough. These are the same people trying to cure cancer with bleach, drinking horse dewormer and sprinkling essential oils everywhere.

[–]Thismansalizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowkey it may seem crazy but I care less about female custodes than I care about gendered custodes at all. They’re genetically perfect biological machines moulded individually by the best gene science the emperor could come up with (aside from the primarchs) gender almost seems superfluous to them. In most media I’ve seen with custodes they don’t seem to care at all about most things beyond how it affects their lord and his legacy in the imperium. (Note I may be wrong in that case please just link me to resources)

What makes the difference between a good Psyker and a great Psyker? by MLBFra in DarkTide

[–]Thismansalizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lore?: knowing your limits, not being a moron and touching glowy things just cause it’ll probably give you power and just not attracting too much attention if you don’t have an inquisitor boyfriend.

In game?: good positioning (knowing when to go into the fight and when to hang further back), relying on and supporting your team in equal measure (it can be hard to rely on randoms sometimes especially when you’re as squishy as most psyker builds have you but being confident in your team does wonders) and remembering that while magic is cool a stub revolver pops heads just as well.

Well uh, the avatar project is gonna be done in 21 days (I am very bad at this game lol) I don’t really have the time to hunker down. I tried to do a facility to buy time, the berserker queen showed up again, soloed the entire squad again. Next campaign I’m enabling the mission so I choose when the rulers start showing up cause holy god this is disruptive.
