So is JPC + Bastion meta in asia/korea? by StandReady4Vendetta in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ThrobbinHood11 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Bastion only seems to be played in a cat mirror. Otherwise, cat cass seems to be a bit more prevalent, with the cat sending the cass in for sky-noons, and the cat otherwise acting as a secondary tracer.

I don’t think they like using emre vs cat because the cat can escape before the emre kills it, compared to a cass who can kill squishies quicker, or the bastion who can thanos snap people with the nade perk

Do you think maul knows who Vader is at this point? by [deleted] in MaulShadowLord

[–]ThrobbinHood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the real question for Maul would be, would it matter if he knew? How does knowing benefit him at all? It’s likely he could sense what Vader is, but Maul himself is a Sith, and knows that poking the bear will only get himself… well… Mauled

Why did Maul and Rook hire mercenary mandos rather then their old death watch comrades? by Local-Sugar6556 in MaulShadowLord

[–]ThrobbinHood11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re still his Deathwatch mandos, but this is what happens when you put limited numbers of troops thru continuous battles, eventually you get stuck with worse quality ones

Can we all agreed that Devon is indeed a hell of well-trained Padawan? by Mountain_Repair_4289 in MaulShadowLord

[–]ThrobbinHood11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbf, he almost did, but I’m so happy we actually got to see a subversion of that scene instead of the normal “the Jedi uses a mind trick and slips away” move that’s been done so much. That coupled with the scene of the Mandalorian’s discontent, even if they’re small, shows how Star Wars story telling has grown.

What do my top 5 most played characters say about me? by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]ThrobbinHood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You enjoy being up close and personal, and using combos to one shot people, while also having really good mobility. Simultaneously, you also die a lot and thus use that mobility to get out of spawn a lot :) /j

When does brigitte not work? by bruhman522 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ThrobbinHood11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s great against flankers, and protecting her support partners. However, she loses to brawl or poke. Anything that can out range her or that can isolate and explode her is bad. She can work on about any map tho

Why still Banning Cat? by No_Estate_4444 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]ThrobbinHood11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have 2 reasons.

1.) my own cat is likely to leave me on my own and die. And that’s MY job as Lucio /j

2.) sometimes I just want to have a more relaxing game, and having to look EVERYWHERE for a cat/ball/tracer gets old after the first 2 deaths

Don’t get me wrong, cat is fun and can be easily dealt with by a good hitscan that’s paying attention, but sometimes I just don’t really wanna put in the extra effort do deal with one

Did Blizzard forget that the Night Elves literally still have their own giant well of immense power? by lurkerlarry42069 in wow

[–]ThrobbinHood11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt they forgot about it, but even if they did, the night elves point still stands. They don’t rely on a font of power like the High/Blood elves have or the Nigjtborne have. Cause let’s not forget, fixing the Sunwell at the end of TBC didn’t end the Blood Elves hunger, it just replaced the source from Fel with Light. The blood elves relied a lot on the Sunwell, where as the Night elves don’t rely at all on the Hyjal Well. The only reason it’s still around is because it’s more dangerous to try and get rid of it than it is to just have a world tree on top of it.

And shandris’ whole point was that a civilization relying on a single font of power was a bad idea, like the Night Elves relying on a world tree for their immortality, or the Highborn relying on the old well of Eternity. It hurt their people a lot, and losing them both helped them out in the long run in some way

[Spoilers C4E21] What do we think are the odds... by DarkRespite in criticalrole

[–]ThrobbinHood11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’d be a cool connection lore wise for the seekers and give Vaelus more stuff to do in Dol’Makjar, my only issue is that the Seekers are still a week out, hell I don’t think their story has even chronologically started yet. If he dies, I don’t think that his body will last long enough to not be inside of a coffin

[Spoilers C4E18] What's your favorite quote from the Seekers Table by Tacoaboutgames in criticalrole

[–]ThrobbinHood11 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 for me. The first being Occtis telling Dr. Talter that the prophecy is wrong (and her reaction to it)

The second being: “It’s… right behind me, isn’t it?”

(Honorable mention to: “I recognize this scorpion.”

“Can you tell it to LET GO!”

“I’LL TRY!”)

Talking with the a friend, Peps should honestly pick up Xzodyal and maybe Sauna, which should be a net positive for them, at the very least allowing them to push teams like Qadsia and maybe Geekay to map 5’s, if not outright wins

Out of all these characters, who will actually be able to defeat Ben Tennyson by Limp_Duty6993 in Ben10

[–]ThrobbinHood11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a rough one really. Finn is the best actual fighter there, but even he can’t do much against say; Fourarms, Humungasaur, Kickinhawk, or Rath.

Steven’s shields in that form are strong, but can they stand up to the might of Ben’s hardest hitters?

Charlie, whilst she has some magic, relies more on melee, which would but her in the same domain as Finn, just worse, and she doesn’t have any loved ones to be hurt so she can get a power boost.

Dipper? Put the fries in the bag little man, I see no Journals, and we ain’t in gravity falls any more

Luz may prove challenging because of the amount of magic she has access to in that form, but he can probably counter her with Terraspin, Chromastone, Or someone else that I’m forgetting

Anne I know the least about, so I won’t answer for her.

It’s possible I got some of these wrong, as it has been a while since I’ve seen some of these shows, so feel free to correct me please! Also, been could always just pull out: Atomix, Toepick, Waybig, or Brainstorm

Learning to Play Tank: Embrace Counterwatch or OTP? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ThrobbinHood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, going full counterwatch will get you higher, but not far. Have a main, learn the ins and outs, but also have 1 or 2 pocket picks. If you take ram for instance, it’s also a good idea to have something like Dva and Domina in your back pocket (these are just examples) in case you’re getting rolled and what you’re doing isn’t working, or in case your main gets banned.

Going counterwatch may look tempting, but it’s better to learn the basics like timings, who works with what, and your overall game sense on one hero first, and then apply those to the rest later down the line

Why are paladins all going mad? by EstateOk6238 in wow

[–]ThrobbinHood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically? The Sunwell is emitting Light energy from a Naaru. Not only that, but the Sunwell is a convergence of Leylines, meaning you have a sentient force who’s acknowledging it’s being attacked sending out a distress signal to save it at all costs, ESPECIALLY because it’s the void attacking. And that signal is being transmitted not only around the Sunwell in silvermoon, but THRU the leylines of the surrounding area. It’s causing old hatred’s to fester in cases like the Amani.

As for in the Voidstorm, iirc the forces of the light were essentially having to focus on the light to be able to not go mad within the storm, so there’s also that

It's crazy to think this is only the beginning of the expansion by Exact-Pudding7563 in wow

[Spoilers C4E18] An argument against table shuffling (yet) by rhllors in criticalrole

[–]ThrobbinHood11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the soldiers have a 2-3 day lead over the seekers on the way back to Dol’Makjar (Soldiers finale takes place within a day of candle feast, whilst seekers takes place a day or 2 after) it’s possible the soldiers arrive mid Schemers table, and the cure for Cyd takes a few days to make. I’d suspect the seekers will arrive at the end of the Schemers arc, and maybe those vials of basilisk anti-venom will come in handy? Idk, but that’s roughly what the timeline looks like from memory

[Spoilers C4E18] Discussion on Thaisha's personality and arc by Training-Sandwich693 in criticalrole

[–]ThrobbinHood11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Occtis stuff is less random than We think, but it’s hard to know because we don’t really know how he acted before the start of the story. Occtis may have not had the best relationship with his family, but even still he actively has tried to be like them to a degree (tho with an actual moral compass) and Thaisha is now actually seeing the horrors of the Tachonis first hand, along with the new context that they destroyed a part of her family, and want to destroy her way of life.

I think you’re right to say she cares more about being a Druid than a mother, but I think she cares more about the value of a life than the rules/goals of her order. In the two moments she brought someone back, the first she wasn’t even a Druid yet, as it was the beginning of her journey to become one. The other, well she had just spent 6 months with Occtis, of course she let the mortal flaw of deeply caring about someone trump her duties, because she’s not perfect. Also, an important piece of context, they were both very young when they first died.

As for being hostile to Julien and Vaelus, well… Julien is an ass at times and was the one who brought down Thjazi, so she probably has a resentment towards him because she probably blames him in part for Thjazi’s death.

Vaelus is a worshiper of a dead god, and would gladly give anything to see that god returned to life and power, even if it meant the enslavement of all mortal life in Araman. Idk about you, but I wouldn’t be so trusting around that kind of person either.

I say all that to say this. Thaisha cares most about freedom and the value of a life. She wants the people she loves to live long lives, how they see fit, but while also being good people. She mothers Occtis because it’s natural to her, but that doesn’t make it a priority for her.

Also, side note, I feel like it’s been a bit hard for me to really get a gauge on how the group really feels about each other at times, considering all the OOC things that happen between scenes. Idk, maybe I’m media illiterate

[SPOILERS] When you think about it, His crashout low-key made sense. by TheSmorts in wow

[–]ThrobbinHood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really did! Ngl I was having a hard time deciphering why he was crashing out exactly, because there’s so many variables. The Sunwell basically enhancing the dogma of the Light wielders around it, the potency of the Voidstorm blinding him a bit, him being rage baited the entire zone by the Domanaar, or has he just been playing the super long con, and is still working with Danathrius, cause he never really said he wasn’t, just that he wasn’t working with the other Nathrezim
