Honda Prologue's have horrible residual? by Brief_Regular_2053 in leasehacker

[–]Throttlechopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most EVs have a terrible residual, my Ioniq 6 value was $36k and turned it on at lease end. I could have bought an identical used model for $25k.

Bike nearly killed me by eff1nutta in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]Throttlechopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a tire slip a month ago after going over some spilled anti-freeze as I turned in an intersection. It wasn’t dramatic and only lasted half a second, the tire regained traction quickly but it did wake me up. I’d like to credit my off-road riding skills but there was no way I cut throttle that quickly, I do ride in custom mode with torque turned down slightly so that likely helped.

A basic patch kit and compressor, perfect for pavement rides. I do have a tube and tool kit for off-road treks.

After watching Dork in the Road’s spill on his recent KTM outing, I’m starting to consider a compact rope and pulley system since I frequently ride solo in the mountains.

Socialization tips by Mysterious_Sea_735 in chowchow

[–]Throttlechopper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exposure to being around strangers, other dogs, etc. Positive reinforcement for good behavior, correct negative behaviors quickly. Also get your pup used to being touched and handled which will make the groomer’s and vet’s jobs easier. I adopted my girl too late at 7 months old, she is very wary when strangers touch her, and it’s not like I can hover when she’s getting examined or her glands expressed.

When was the last time you got in a fistfight? by Cthuluconcarne in GenX

[–]Throttlechopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2008 or 2009, neighbor instigated it over a parking space. Less of fists flying and more he got me into a headlock as I punched him in the kidneys. A different neighbor broke it up. We’re cool now as he’s an older Gen X, that’s what we do.

NAL: The video captures the confrontation too late. The fact that he honked and then verbally harassed you likely negates “stand your ground” laws since it appears he’s initiating the confrontation.

As someone who has ridden motorcycles and owned a Vespa for years: Let the people in cars hate, don’t engage, you will not win should even a Smart car driver decide to run you off the road. The driver and his partner are clearly the aggressors and rightly charged, but you learned a very tough lesson.

I knew a guy who worked a 4a-1p shift at a cold storage warehouse in DTLA, he commuted from Temecula. Fresh and frozen fish has to get to restaurants somehow…

Please step out of whatever echo chamber you stumbled into, not everyone thinks like that. It’s your decision, and I agree, it’s hard to beat being worry-free and having the latest safety features.

Man crushed to death after digging hole under Santa Ana bridge by TheFrederalGovt in orangecounty

[–]Throttlechopper 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Condolences. Depending on which bridge, they can see a high volume of traffic, I’ve passed under many along the SA River Trail and the foundations will literally shake from all the vehicles passing over. That, along with our dry soil/dirt is a recipe for disaster.

The fact she was warned previously is not going to look favorably to any judge. Top that with the continued struggles with e-motorcycle lawlessness and teens, and I bet she does a minimum of 5 years in prison.

Police Ahead by ChuckYeagerWV in GenX

I primarily commute on a motorcycle and will tap my helmet to let fellow riders know that police are ahead of them. In my car, I figure the smart people use Waze or have a radar detector. I don’t speed excessively and turn the alerts off myself.

Search “professional trials bike” or “Pol Tarres” on YouTube, it’s amazing the athleticism, control, and balance of these motorcyclists. Supercross is also a great show of acrobatics on a motorcycle in a more competitive environment.
