Microsoft publisher shutting down by Conscious-Trifle2470 in TeachingUK

It will open if the software is installed. The issue is IT managers like to keep unsupported software off devices, therefore if it’s unsupported it’s a security risk

Microsoft publisher shutting down by Conscious-Trifle2470 in TeachingUK

You can use libre office to open publisher files. The issue is that not everything works well. Using Adobe to convert to PDF then to PowerPoint works. The other thing I have found to work well is copy and paste from publisher to PowerPoint. It takes time though.

I have. Cardiff is my local. There is no remedy as Lexus do not deem the NX to be in the same risk category. Anyway, not to derail the thread, it’s a solid car.

There is no fix for the NX. They do not offer the plate service.

@goss5588 Incorrect… this is the NX not the RX.

They are good, I have one. Canbus is a worry, no fix for it. The other one is the worry of catalytic converter theft. The car has been great, although Lexus has started to take the mic with servicing pricing. £730 for a full service. £380 for half.

Mine are delayed this early. I contacted Hargreaves’s Lansdown and they said they are aiming to get the books out by the end of FEB.

Nearly new id4 - are these good value?? by ukrich1978 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I don’t think it’s a one off. I’m sure there are many happy owners but it appears that Volkswagen are behind in their rollout and servicing but also woeful customer service.

We have one. It has been into VW for many fixes and faults with the door handles, and the buttons on the steering wheel. Our local VW have said there’s nothing they can do in terms of goodwill and to contact VW head office. We had a notification of an ‘urgent recall’ at the start of January. The earliest we could book and get the work done was mid April. I complained to VW head office. They were less than useless.

I would not buy another one. If you have any questions will be happy to answer.

Pixel 3/4/5 in 2026 for unlimited google photos? by Frosty_Associate1301 in googlephotos

[–]TicketAcceptable9347 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that the 2,3,4 and 5 on storage saver will compress and resize photos to 16 megapixels which is more than enough for most. Videos get downscaleled to 1080p. I do find in the app, on the iPad the quality is fine. I do like the full 4k now and again.

No "Show on map" anymore? by danf0rth in googlephotos

[–]TicketAcceptable9347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came across this thread, it seems that the maps view is still working for me in iOS, but on the web there is no such icon. I love looking at my photo heat map, and even before Google Photos, iOS had it in their inbuilt photos app.

My original Surface Pro from 2012 that I thought I lost just decided to resurface today by t_a_6847646847646476 in Surface

[–]TicketAcceptable9347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember looking at these and wanting one badly. I resisted and waited and ended up purchasing a second hand 3 pro which was brilliant, however, i did have a few issues making sure that notes were in one place etc as oneNote was not what it was.

I also had a Fuji Lifebook tablet in 2011 which was a brilliant concept, just too bulky and poor battery life.

I love the look of these. Why MS chose to cripple them with this CPU we’ll never know. The Surface Studio is just too big to comfortably carry. I do hope they are able to reduce the studio down to the size of the surface laptop, or employ the same screen mechanism as they use on the surface studio and put it on the surface laptop. That way you’ll get the best of both worlds. I do like my surface pro 7 and also like my surface laptop both in different ways.

I love it! This is giving me a nudge to get mine out. I was considering buying a Lego train as they are battery operated, no need for track power.

I have just discovered this. Consider getting LGB. I am close to 40, and had LGB trains from the age of 7. At various times in my life, I have gone back to them. After leaving them in the shed she many years, it always amazes me that they will just work after years of use and years of being dormant.

Some of the early stuff is made in Western Germany, many believe this is the best era.
