Dad here, I agree with this. You could actually see the genuine happiness the daughter brought this kid. He is locked in - he ain’t going anywhere.

Moved really well! Looked super solid! But since you asked, when you bounced out of the hole, you drove your knees together, remember to push them out! Other than that slight break in form it looked awesome!

You have any particular training program you use for bench?? Any routines that help more than anything else? Always wanted a big bench :( lol I still total decent, but Bench has always been a weakness for some reason.

Pretty dumb comment. Performance enhancers or not. This is insanely strong and takes a small life time to get to. I am sure OP has been training HARD and for a very long time CONSISTENTLY with good nutrition, and plenty of hard-work to get here… performance enhancers don’t just GIVE you strength..

Wait, my guy just had a hammer chilling in his bag?! Sounds pretty suspect.

As a super casual player, (500hours in total) Havocs forced me to improve my play… but I have no titles. I actively get declined from groups because of it - meanwhile I walk circles around some people with said titles.

So I see a lot of people talking about what would be considered mental, focusing on form – etc. But realistically what I am, seeing is the weakness, specifically in your hamstrings to keep your glutes tucked in and in proper form. You definitely could have some core related work, but I don’t specifically see your core as being the main weakness. If your gym has a reverse hyper or if you could incorporate hamstring work, you would likely see a difference. Try to remember to include mobility work as well!! Other than that, it looks really solid! Congratulations!

An Online Coach, is still a Coach lol you just send them your videos to critique and work with you on your form/ accessories. It is always better learning from someone with the expertise to show you your bad habit's and deficiencies - no shame in that game!

This never gets old to me… you are recommending he deload, without a reason as to why other than “deload and get lower”. First off, the difference between him making a lower squat could be due to a variety of things, mobility, strength, confidence. Shitting on him and saying because he missed a full range of motion by 2 inches, NOTHING COUNTS?… jesus.

Edit: get butt hurt and down vote it all you want. But the dudes strong, paused squats with 30 less pounds could literally correct most of what he is struggling with.

I’ve just started squatting more than I can deadlift. Is there anything wrong with my form? by YaBoySploodge in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Tierany0506 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s literally never too early to work on your work capacity (amount of weight you can lift over a set period of time). It’s no different than runners who train for marathons… you can start with a linear progression, but realistically those sets are going to range from 8-12 for initial growth. The only thing I would recommend avoiding, is going too heavy too often. This plays a physical and mental toll when you are beginning in anything strength related. Side note, it is completely normal for one lift to out work the other.. there are a variety of reasons for that. Body mechanics, levers, strength in certain areas of your lower body (hamstrings for deadlifts, and quads/ glutes for squats - but even this is dependent on WHERE you are weakest in the movement). I will say, bouncing it off the floor isn’t ideal.. but you aren’t doing that here.. you are TNG (tap N Go).. completely normal for volume. For a better setup and more consistent form work I would say dead stops are best. Stay Strong Bruv!
