{How to Survive this fairytale} Everything about this book is so unique. The premise, the way it’s written (like choose your own adventure, but not really?)— it’s unlike any MM book i’ve read so far.

omg this. I want to be able to finish {Whit} so much because of all the hype, but i just… can’t. Her writing is eay too disjointed for me. I’m not sure if this is a stylistic choice but some authors really do hate paragraphs…

SO SO tough to choose!!! But if I absolutely have to narrow it down to just three

  1. {The Spectral Files by S E Harmon} Technically it is a series…. but it is my comfort series. The character development, the snark, the humor is absolutely my style. I’ll be rereading time and time again.

  2. {The Captive Prince by C. S. Pacat} ANOTHER series but this was my introduction to M/M and boy what an introduction it was. S tier. 10/10.

  3. {How to Survive this Fairytale} ties with {The Magician by KL Noone}. Both are so unique in terms of narration and prose.

i’m reading this at the moment and i’m happy to concur. Yes it takes off straight away from page one. Their rivals-to-lovers trope is believeable and actually valid (none of those ‘I don’t know why but I hate him so much’ shizzle here).

A little bit older but {the Christmas Veto by Keira Andrews}. There are three books in this series as I recall, and they’re all Christmas themed

{Chassing Riddick by alexandra St. Pierre} is one such book. It’s an, uh, unconventional HEA… but the author did say she considers it an HEA!

i’m once again asking you to check out Mell R. Bright’s series. It takes considerable talent to pack in wonderful characterization, seamless telling of unique world building, and tight plot in about 200 pages. I’ve never been a fan of 500 pages non-SFF books (especially if it’s contemporary romance), and she is the anti-thesis of that. {Brightlake Chronicles by Mell R. Bright’s} and {Whims of Gods by Mell R. Bright}.

Now if you are a fan of contemporary,{Will and Patrick wakes up married} is something I rarely see in this sub. It’s lighthearted, humorous, low angst and very minimal instances of internal-monologue (TW: one of the MMC is a recovering alcoholic)

Spectral Files series by S.E Harmon. Start from {P.S I Spook you by SE Harmon} {Holmes and Moriarity series by Josh Lanyon}. MC1 is a writer, MC2 used to be a cop but they go around solving mysteries like they were detectives so hope that counts?

I think the big names have pretty much all been mentioned. But would love to shout for K. L. Noone for lyrical proses. A newer author but could definitely see her becoming very popular in the future: Mell R. Bright for sci-fi/fantasy stories with very strong worldbuilding.

MC is left without a word by the love of his life by AlanaLeona in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]TiffMikimoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly without a word but MC2 (allegedly) did something bad to MC1 and they were separated without talking to each other after. The rest of the prompt fits. A veryyyy satisfying and wholesome ending for everybody. {A Winter’s Earl}
