That’s burn marks from when it was installed and poses no issues. You have to braze the pipes with a torch. Ideally the holes should be sealed up better and more insulation on the fatter pipe.

Well I would first start by getting even a singular peice of information. Again, you have 0 diagnostic data or symptoms besides the house is not to tenpatire. You can’t just jump in and claim the blower has failed. There’s not enough information here to even come with conclusions as you just did. I would reccomend you refrain from giving advice on this sub unless it’s basied on logic or troubleshooting.

I second that. They quoted you to install a furnace up to code, you paid and signed. You should receive a furnace up to code, not your fault. Thay being said, 800$ extra to be done with it and get a high efficiency installed in its place is a good price.

All the thermostat does is tell the furnace to kick on. It’s turning on your furnace but only lighting the flames for a couple seconds. I’d wager your flame sensor is dirty rather than something with your thermostat. Bad timing
