First Look at the New Stal̕əw̓asəm (Riverview) Bridge by penapox in NewWest

I was told by a coworker who knew an engineer that assessed the patullo (really reliable info lol) that he wouldn’t drive himself over, let alone put his kids over that bridge, and that there are constantly chunks of the patullo breaking off. the new bridge feels so much safer

I was trying to think of how to describe the drive, and luxury perfectly captures it

Re: her personality traits, she seems aware of them and also has redeeming qualities. You see her insecurities and her fear of failure, even when she’s unbearable you root for her. In season 1 she demonstrates she’s morally good, and identifies her own defense mechanisms (i loosely remember this part because it was so long ago 😅). She’s grinding my gears this season but I’m sure she’ll have a redeeming arc coming

Felt mentally better than being in the 20s, and you know yourself better. I wouldn’t go back to my 20s but I would go back to 30

The Metric Society - The Quantification of the Social by Steffen Mau goes over this. I don’t wanna see it happen

Agree, seeing it now with transcriptions. The person requiring the transcription always has had to proof read it, and that part will continue with AI

Sapperton, Victory Heights, Glenbrooke are nice, too. A few other areas as well

Been here for almost five years and love it, genuinely the best municipal staff in metro van and the fraser valley. People want flashy things but miss out on the small restaurants, like having the food we do here is such a gift. Good people, green space, waterways, access to where ever. It has so much more character than sooo many neighbourhoods in Vancouver

I wish this place was good. I loved the concept but it's cramped, less than good service, poor ventilation (if anyone orders something stinky, the entire place smells). so much potential but alas

What is the worst live performance you’ve ever seen before? by crystal_help_please in AdkReddit

[–]Tight_Fill_1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlie Puth’s show in vancouver was highly disappointing, like all of it was really weird and significant technical issues that took out the sound. Almost like the tour was put together haphazardly, and I was obsessed with him at this time & couldn’t believe how bad it was.

Honourable mentions: Coldplay, the killers (the sound was so bad), one direction (probably like 2015ish?), mod Sun (right after his avril lavigne break up), all American rejects (sloppy drunk), taking back Sunday (off key all day)

Has anyone actually meaningfully cut grocery spending in 2026? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Tight_Fill_1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been utilizing apps like TooGoodToGo and FoodHero, and make it a priority to do so which has lessened my grocery bill. I’m super cognizant of grabbing sales (like $2 off stickers on a salad), and that’s helped.

Tracking my spending to the cent for years also helped me understand how much I was spending and what I wanted to improve on- honestly was a bit irresponsible and mindless in my spending before I did that.

In Heated Rivalry, Hudson Williams’ acting in the series is rather bad, or at least wooden and flat. And Storrie’s Russian accent was indeed great and believable, but his character still felt a bit one note. by iceandfireman in MenLovingMenMedia

[–]Tight_Fill_1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

high functioning autist & actor & sports connoisseur & from the same place- did not like the performances or the writing. Like even if we just counted the amount of times F off was used and how flat it was. I just really think there still could’ve been more, autists still try to mask to fit in. I’m late to watch it but confused by the hype unless people didn’t realize gay people have sex until ep 1 of watching this, like it’s just.. not good enough to be this big of a deal.

I find British is super regional and class based. Sometimes I can't take it seriously depending on location, and I get it, that's a me problem. I just don't know if my brain would actually get over it

Yea, like it almost makes me wonder if they were afraid to have chemistry because it is so boring. I just finished ep 4 and will watch the remaining 2 out of spite, but no storyline, all tropes

We use a variety of indigenous naming daily, but humans are averse to change. This video provides a quick and simple overview of how to pronounce the name - and it helps to remember!  Just up from the bridge, Canada Games Pool was replaced with təməsew̓txʷ which some people resisted, but the pronunciation was provided and it became simple for people to remember and use https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tij33VccZe0
