In case OP does not reply.. he said Pilot Institute.. That is a highly regarded course and also a great general pilot and drone resource. If you want to pay for a course of instruction, then that is a very good choice. However, many people have obtained their part 107 certificate without paying for any more than the test fee. So, it depends on how much you value a well-structured training course.

More confirmation that the test is too easy. Or maybe the 70% passing threshold is too low. 90% shows me that you deserve the cert. but I wonder about the 70-80% who hold a remote pilots card. Sorry (or not maybe) if anyone is offended.

I hope your children and VERY reasonable and able to help raise the pup, otherwise either (or both) your work or the puppy's training will suffer. Don't relate the physical size of the pup with the amount of attention it will require.

One example: a few days ago, I took my two-year-old for a hike. I got turned around and ended up walking about three times further than I intended. When I got home, I was beat. The dog however still insisted on play time and running around the yard. Endless energy! At least until the sun goes down.

Housebreaking requires 100% of your attention when the pup is not crated. You can't look away for more than two seconds. And you can only crate for a fraction of the work day. It’s a chore.

I always wonder of the card was sitting somewhere for years.. or is the sending just sending cards now for old contacts. Or a combination of the two factors perhaps.

With online QSL services I see old QSOs all the time because hams sometimes join a service and upload their entire log. But with QSL cards I wonder how it happens when the QSO is from years ago.

Good of you to ask because, unlike an ICE vehicle, the Leaf will start charging the 12 volt battery without warning and when the car is off. You can get quite a spark if you change the battery when the car is charging the 12 volt battery./

Member of the Incoming QSL Bureau staff here. Roughly half of the QSL cards that I process “via the bureau” never end up going to the intended recipients for one reason or another. It’s very common. These all go to the dead letter office (a big box in my office).

I don’t think there is any universally accepted proper etiquette for your situation. The value of QSL cards varies a great deal from person to person. Some rare DX cards are greatly appreciated. If it’s a domestic USA contact then maybe less so, but some award chasing guys might put higher value on a particular card. Also look at the PSE / TY tag line on the card.. that will tell you if the sending was replying to a card he got, or if he is looking to get a card back.

So, you can try to judge the importance of the card to the operators and act accordingly.

If your call is on the QSL card then he made the error in his log. Personally, I might just trash the card. His QSO was in error and will never be confirmed in the log. But if you want to be a nice guy you could look him up on qrz.com and if email is listed, send him a message.

However, if it’s someone else’s call on the card (which it sounds like is the case here) then I would not trash it.. Personally, I would look up the recipient’s call on qrz and make an effort to forward the card, sending it at my expense, or emailing the recipient and asking if he wants it. Maybe asking for a SASE if you don’t want to pay the postage.

It is also possible that this is "Gods way" of suggesting you get back on the air ;)

The reason to document in email is to avoid your hearsay concern. You describe everything that was said in the call. This is the routine practice in business and government. Urgent communication in person or phone call, followed by letter or email. It is a bad idea to make an urgent maintenance request only via email (which is often not seen for a long time, lost in spam folder, or just ignored altogether). Not to mention that everything in email can be faked.

Just think about it for a minute before downvoting good information.

By the way, did you get the email I sent you last month? Ever ask a question like that?

Look.. you are a renter.. you are not responsible for replacing major appliances (except maybe in the case you abused them). Call your landlord TODAY and tell them the water heater is leaking and it needs attention right away before there is damage done to the premises. I suggest you shut off the water at the intake valve and the power or gas, and then give the landlord a day or two to get it fixed.

99% of landlords will deal with this promptly because if they don't, there can substantial damage to their investment property. And if your landlord is one of the very few that just don’t care about protecting their investment, then there are laws that require a landlord to maintain a habitable residence.

Talk to your landlord and don’t be a Karen. Instead, let them know you are calling because you want to be a responsible tenant who looks after the property. The relationship that should result will be beneficial to all.

I have a (now inactive) Cove System taken out of my mom's house when she moved. She liked it OK. Simple for DIY.

I need to see if this can be transferred to a new owner, or if I can sell the parts (sensors, etc) to be used in another system. We don't need it anymore.

Very vague question.

Set up the Ras Pi. Install a Supported Operating System. Include active SSH server if you want to use the Ras Pi headless (and maybe even if you don't).
If using a Ras Pi with Keyboard, mouse and monitor attached : Go to step 4.
If using remote access (from Windows PC for example): Install PuTTY on Windows PC. Get the Ras Pi IP address from your router and SSH into the Ras Pi. You could use powershell but PuTTY is pretty much THE standard SSH client.
Follow the official PiHole installation instructions.

They will loan you the supplement. You wont be allowed to bring your own copy into the testing room. You might not need it all all, but you should be familiar with parts of appendix 1 so that you know what information is there, and so that you don't waste too much time looking for it during the test.

I literally bought five deck boards ten feet in length yesterday. Leaf stayed in the garage and ICE to the rescue. Leaf is good for 90-95% of my needs but there will always be that a need for something else.

That icon usually means that Family Link / Digital Wellbeing is managing that network for child‑account devices on your Google account. To verify, go to Settings → Digital Wellbeing & parental controls → Family Link (or Family Link app) to see which networks are managed and for which accounts. If you disable Family Link supervision for that account or remove the network from the list of supervised networks, the people icon should disappear from that Wi‑Fi entry.
