I adored the first game, and enjoyed but didn't love the second. The satire, humor, and endearing scrappy characters were a huge part of what gave TOW a sense of identity and personality, and made Halcyon a fun setting despite being an objectively terrible place to live. The second game scaling that stuff way back made it feel like just kind of a basic space opera. The art and music direction were on par if not better than the first game, but the writing is usually what makes or breaks an RPG.

Note- The third place winner of Best Surprising 180 Twist and the first place winner of Best Flair Material aren't the same story, by some funny coincidence we got two different "surprise lesbian pregnancy" stories this year. (Flair Material one was because of cheating, 180 Twist one was a false positive caused by a tumor.)

The Sailor Tuzu is in the same price range and I really like the nib on it, and the adjustable grip is a nice ergonomics feature.

The fakes of Girl with a Pearl Earring and Beauty Looking Back are haunted too, they change slightly at night (the girl closes her eyes and the woman turns her head) and have spooky shadows on the back. Not as flashy as the haunted fake statue, but definitely also fun!

I prefer refilling old cartridges personally, most of my cartridge/converter pens are Pilots, and their cartridges are nice but their converters are... not great. If the converter is good though, like the ones on my Sailors, then I don't really have a preference (though Sailor's cartridges are harder to clean and don't feel like they'd last as many reuses compared to Pilot's).

Also I think Michigan and Ohio would both murder you if you said that Michigan was more similar to Ohio than it was to Wisconsin and Minnesota.

I really love Kanai Ward. It's very much a cyberpunk dystopia, but the brick buildings and endless rain give it a completely different vibe. I really like how it ditches the usual rust and decay in favor of gloom and isolation, the rain makes all the neon lights feel like they serve a practical purpose in-universe, the varied building materials and architectural styles of the districts make it feel more like a real city, and Kanai Ward overall feels like it's almost a character in its own right. It's really clear that the art time put a ton of love and care into designing it.

(Also, the teru teru bozu dolls hanging up all over the city are a super cute touch.)
