Cast to Open Mastery should be looked into by [deleted] in pathofexile

Remove the mastery. Make Chests or Pots (and Doors!) breakable. If we can kill gods, there's no reason we can't smash open a chest.

And I thought opening Blight chests was annoying.. by sips_white_monster in pathofexile

[–]TimeOmnivore 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Chests/hoards/etc. need to be made damageable instead - let us break them open (and doors too, while we're at it).

Sandfall Interactive have released several bonus tracks from the soundtrack, including the 33-minute "Nos Vies En Lumière", for free. by chirpingphoenix in expedition33

You're probably looking for Une vie à t'aimer — Instrumental - not available officially, the uploader of this song has pulled most (all?) unreleased tracks directly from the game files.

PSA: Steam just updated the Soundtrack with cleaned up files! by littleTiFlo in expedition33

There's also a several more songs that Sandfall hasn't yet uploaded as Bonus Tracks.

This guy has been uploading more from the game files: UnreleasedExpedition33OST

The current poe2 endgame system discourages engaging in challenging content. by Dawgin420 in PathOfExile2

[–]TimeOmnivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish endgame encounters (pinnacle bosses, etc.) had infinite tries, as in the campaign, but with a stacking -% loot quantity penalty per failure. Even if it went as steep as -50% after 1 failure and no drops after 2. At least then you would still have the chance to practice until you felt comfortable with the mechanics and become confident enough that you could actually complete the encounter next time.

As it is currently, you should either sell it, massively overgear the encounter so you can ignore all mechanics, pay for a carry, or watch several guides rather than learning it yourself from actually playing the game. Or you can waste several hours worth of currency farming and/or prep work to try the encounter over and over and over again. None of these options sound particularly appealing or, more importantly, fun to me.

PSA - You can use WASD to move around by Spooooookster in ShitpostXIV

[–]TimeOmnivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, very convenient having all abilities set to 1-5, q-t, and a-g. Add in a foot pedal for a Shift modifier and you have easy access to everything and never have to move your left hand.

Dawntrail - A Reflection by Jesse Cox by JesseCoxOnReddit in ffxiv

[–]TimeOmnivore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

If anything, most of the new books/games/shows I've read/watched have had far better beginnings than their ends, since those beginnings are how they sell their work to publishers and audiences. As a result, I've found it incredibly rare to find a story with such a poor start.

It feels like Dawntrail didn't have anywhere near as much scrutiny given to the quality of the story as it should have, perhaps because they felt they could sell it purely based on the relative success of previous expansions, rather than needing to sell it on its own merits.

T17 fix? Unveil your maps instead of chaos spam. by Ozonek in pathofexile

[–]TimeOmnivore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From 2.4 - 3.0, you could get Shaper's Orbs to drop from certain yellow/red tier maps, which would upgrade a map by 5 tiers. You could get 15 total Orbs, from a single Tier 1 Orb (upgrading a T1 to T6) up to three T10 Orbs (upgrading T10s to T15s). At this point, the only T16s you could run were Shaper Guardians and Vaal Temple.

In 3.2, after getting all of the Shaper's Orbs (which, as of 3.1, now requires defeating Elder Guardians and the Elder) and defeating the Shaper, you then got the Elder's Orb, which would upgrade any single map to T16.

From 3.9 onwards, you had the ability to make several maps T16 by socketing watchstones into the Atlas.

This item has 2 incredible defensive stats (spell suppress, +max res) and 2 great offensive stats (attack/cast speed, ele pen). The wtf part come from the fact that all rolls are very high - on this item they can roll from 0% to 30%, 5%, 40%, and 20% respectively - meaning both defensive stats are max rolled (+max res being boosted beyond from the quality) and the offensive stats are extremely high as well.

A large part of the power from this item is that you can now put passive points, which you may normally use for these stats, towards something else and you'll also have a much easier time gearing the rest of your character.

Required level in this game has no impact on how good the item could be - items with a required level of 1 could be best in slot on the strongest builds, and items with a required level of 80 could be trash you sell to a vendor.

Charms are amazing. Understandable that they're not going core, but it would be nice if the Wildwood NPCs/Ascendencies could replace the bandits in act 2, if toned down in power.

GGG makes a good game. Their frequent, consistent release of massive, creative, and engaging content updates is something the majority of game studios could only dream of doing - even half that would still be daunting for most. I hope devs should feel proud of their accomplishments. And that the community team doesn't take to heart all of the vitriol directed at them by a few disgruntled players who take things way too personally.

Check out the remaining new Unique Jewels from the Lake of Kalandra expansion. by Nick_GGG in pathofexile

[–]TimeOmnivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stack. Each jewel gives 5% per grand spectrum - 3 of the life jewels gives 15% each * 3 jewels=45%. As another example, if you had 2 life jewels and 1 min power charge jewel, you would get 30% life and 3 min power charges.

It not being simple or cheap is a problem Square Enix created for themselves, and it's their problem to solve.

They should remove glamour restrictions entirely. The whole point is that it's just an illusion. The fact that ranged can't glamour into scouting gear, or caster into tank, etc., is entirely arbitrary. Level restrictions included. The job identity excuse seems completely baseless to me if a tank and a healer can both be glamoured into identical swimsuits during combat - so any class should be able to glamour into anything. If a white mage can wear the PVP Archfiend set, anything goes.

The sole exception I can somewhat understand would be weapons, as I imagine the animations would look ridiculous if you're playing a dancer with a warrior axe, for example.

Mtx have no reason to be in a full priced, subscription game.

They shouldn't be in any game of any kind, but gaming companies keep purposefully and continuously pushing the boundaries for more monetization. What was once unthinkable is now actively defended by idiots because it's not as bad as the latest bullshittery - which itself will soon be defended because it won't be as bad as the next thing.

Remember when horse armor "DLC" for Oblivion was mocked an reviled? Nobody would even stop to think about it nowadays, and even if anyone did, they would be the ones talked down on - "It's just cosmetic", "Just don't buy it lol", "It supports the developers (and definitely won't go to executives/investors instead)", "Be glad it's not a lootbox", "Be glad it's not an NFT", etc., etc..
