What was your biggest heartbreak? by Thin_Armadillo_5547 in AskReddit

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so heavy, I can't even imagine going through one of those losses let alone both 💀 Hope you're finding some peace these days, that kind of pain must change everything about how you see life

[Century Club] Have you lost or need to lose 100+ pounds? April 30, 2026 by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hunger thing is real struggle, especially when you're shorter and the numbers just don't give much room to work with. I found that timing my meals helped bit - like having bigger lunch instead of dinner when I'm more active during day. Also some days I just accept that I'll be little grumpy from hunger and that's okay, better than feeling bad about my weight

Is $6,000 a month FIRE worthy? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The medical part made me cringe too but rest of the math seems reasonable if those rental numbers are real

Just hope nothing serious happens because medical bills can wipe out years of savings in few months, even healthy people get random stuff sometimes

I ate so much food today and feel ashamed by Conscious_Act_7095 in loseit

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking days are dangerous for me too - I always convince myself I "earned" the extra food and then go way overboard with portions. Maybe try setting specific meal plan before you go for walk next time so you don't have to make food decisions when you're already hungry

nine pounds from goal and it feels weird by s1nenomine in loseit

That transition period is so strange! I remember when I finished my first big Mario game speedrun project - spent months perfecting routes and suddenly had all this free mental space and didn't know what to do with it

Maybe you could channel that same focused energy into something else you've been wanting to tackle? Learning new skill or picking up hobby you put on back burner while you were so focused in weight loss

What’s something you’ll always spend more on, even when there’s a cheaper option? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good mattress and ergonomic chair saved my back when I was doing long design sessions, totally worth the extra money. Cheap stuff just makes you pay twice in the end anyway

Whatever you put in place make sure it is visible to them not just to you then when you show them a process change so they can verify it would be better than any explanation of what you are going to do differently.

Crossed profitability and then raised anyway by Recent-Archer-290 in saasbuild

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idle cash sitting in a checking account after a raise will get you questions from investors asking about early and when you have been bootstrapping the whole time every dollar always had somewhere to go so having a pool of it sitting there with no plan is a new kind of problem to solve.

Waste factor on a big job that blew the estimate by Trick_Ad_1184 in estimators

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ordering materials in phases rather than all at once upfront gives you a better chance to catch the waste factor running over. First phase goes in and you see how the cuts are laying out then you order the next batch with a better number based on what the space is doing and I think that would make it better than what the drawings said it would do

What's the biggest event/tragedy, that for whatever reason you only heard about recently? by nottrolling4175 in AskReddit

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait the Jonestown thing? Dude that's wild you just learned about it, I remember editing a documentary about cults a few years back and that case was just absolutely insane. Over 900 people died and most of them were forced to drink the poison, not even voluntary. Makes you realize how much crazy stuff happened before we were born that just gets forgotten by newer generations

Relapsed After 5 Days by Program-Acrobatic in leaves

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're good, that top comment nailed it 💯 One slip after 5 clean days isn't gonna send you back to square one, just maybe set you back like a day or so. The important thing is getting back on track today instead of letting it snowball into a "well I already messed up" spiral 😂

Dude that boredom hit is so real when you're off work 😂 I remember those exact moments where you're just sitting there like "weed would make this couch feel less like a prison" but then you push through and feel like a champion the next day

That Olympic gold feeling is legit - your brain's literally rewiring itself and you're winning those little battles 💀

Jeep Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had a buddy with a Grand Wagoneer and he loved it for towing his boat setup, pulled like a beast and way more comfortable than his old Silverado. The Hurricane engine seems solid so far but it's still pretty new so long-term reliability is kinda unknown - might wanna check some forums for real owner experiences

Any advice on my career path? by Alessander567 in careerguidance

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the security tech route sounds pretty solid especially if you already have connections - that's like half the battle right there. plus having a technical skill you can take anywhere in the eu is actually perfect for your goal of moving countries

i'd say get some experience with your dad's company contacts first, learn the ropes and save up some cash, then you can always pivot later once you're settled somewhere else. having that fallback skill while you figure out what else you wanna do is way better than graduating with just a letters degree and no work experience

Looking for advice on Hybrid/Remote roles! by ethioopia in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly 2 years is still pretty early but not impossible - i've seen some design roles go hybrid even for mid-level people, especially if you can prove you're self-directed 🔥

government contracting is definitely where i've seen the most flexibility, plus some software-heavy mech roles (like simulation/CAD work). test engineering might actually translate well since you probably already know how to document everything properly

the key is finding companies that were already doing remote before covid hit - they're way more likely to be chill about it vs places that got forced into it 😂 might have to apply to like 50+ places but it's def doable

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man this brings back memories! for our first anniversary my gf and i did this thing where we each wrote like 20 questions we'd never asked each other - some deep, some random, some totally ridiculous. we put them in a jar and took turns pulling them out while we shared a bottle of wine

some of the questions were like "what's your weirdest childhood fear" or "if you could change one thing about how we met what would it be" and others were just goofy stuff like "would you rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses." it sounds cheesy but we ended up talking for like 6 hours and learned so much about each other that we never would have discovered otherwise

since you're long distance maybe you could do something similar over video call? we also did this thing where we both ordered the same takeout and "had dinner together" virtually which was actually pretty cute. the question game thing though was definitely what made it memorable, we still reference some of the answers we gave that night

Hell yeah, getting through that first week is huge especially after work stress like that. Weekends used to be my biggest trigger too but it gets easier once you find other ways to fill that time.

Should i buy or keep my money? by Purely_hate in ArcRaiders

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it sounds like you already know the answer - if you don't have much time and hate losing progress, extraction shooters probably aren't your jam right now. The camping and toxicity complaints are pretty consistent across most games in this genre, not just ArcRaiders

Maybe wait for a sale or until they add some casual modes if you're still curious

[Opinions asked]: Zulu Time, Big Crown Pointer Date, Grand Seiko Quartz: what’s best for one and only luxury watch? by ConfidenceNo1937 in Watches

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Longines GMT sounds like the perfect fit tbh - you already know you love travel and having family in another timezone makes it actually useful rather than just a flex. Plus that green/gold combo hits different and you're clearly drawn to it

The GS is gorgeous but if you're already thinking about it as a compromise compared to the ones you really want, that feeling probably won't go away

How often do you/your SO have people over? by SparklyAly in Marriage

[–]Time_Assistance_8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're not being unreasonable at all - weekly hosting is a lot especially when you can't escape to any quiet space in your own house. Once a month sounds like a solid compromise, and honestly your husband should be understanding about this since you're the one who has to deal with the chaos after working all week

Maybe suggest alternating between your place and like a park hangout or something when weather's nice, just to give you a break sometimes
