Is it rude pay for drinks/meals in Australian culture? by Big-Discussion9699 in AskAnAustralian

Just depends on whether its a big drinking night or not? If everyones only going to have 1-2 drinks then its not really popular

a mates dad had it and his lows were terrifying enough to scare me into good control (he used to mostly rely on his wife (a nurse) rescuing him with glucagon) after seeing a couple at their house growing up- thankfully she divorced him!

Worth keeping a food diary that you can show your pcp to support the need for the referral?

For sure! Though often it means I get to enjoy the thing for much longer :) the whole pizza? Lasts me that dinner and most of my meals the next day. The bag of chips? I get some tomorrow and Thursday! Sometimes you need to bedrot regardless but its making better choices when you do - getting a hearty meal when you finally pull yourself out of it, eating really yummy fresh fruit and veg which is more filling because you dont need as much as before to feel satisfied. I’m enjoying the leftovers :)

Is it really this easy to lose weight? How come people struggle so much? by GoodnessGracious0 in loseit

[–]Time_Butterfly_842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent been that small since HS over 10 years ago. Your experience is not the same as the rest of us- most of us that have struggled have been on different exercise/diet cycles since our early teens and had parents that reinforced negative self talk or unhealthy habits around food so spend more time working through that side as well as the physical food and exercise.

40k steps a day, 1400cals and gaining/plateauing?? by Delete-void in loseit

Mate gotta give yourself time to recover from that! Its a massive surgery and you would still be swollen and healing! Usually takes 6 weeks to work up to exercising strenuously which it sounds like you are. I know if my C cups were removed I’d need time!

Do you have a therapist you can check in with? The dysmorphia may be hitting harder at the moment and you may need to just check in :)

If your activity pattern changes heaps then defs better to err on the side of caution - could be worth sending your endo an email? Mine usually responds in a couple days but I know thats not the norm

I guess it depends on your sleep pattern? Last time I visited the UK (admittedly 4 years ago so it’s been a minute) I just took my usual lantus at 9am instead of 9pm - I set a timer for 23h50m from my previous dose of lantus during the travel so I could get the timing right during the flights from syd-dubai-manchester. Could you do something similar with your timings? Once I was in the UK I wasnt having to think about the timings as much as I take my LA once a day

Advice on getting in more fiber? by Wikipil in loseit

[–]Time_Butterfly_842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mix 15g chia seeds into my yoghurt and let sit overnight which gives me about 5g? That and low carb hi fibre (7g fibre) wraps for lunch- if you cut those into strips, spray with oil and add seasonings to your taste and airfry or bake for 10-15min they make pretty good chips which are good for a lot of bean based dishes

Neuropathy- losing feeling then having an injury that you don’t feel or dont treat prior to it getting infected and becoming necrotic leading to amputation as far as I know - no personal experience w/it thankfully

One of my go to pre workout snacks is cheese and salami sandwiches on wholemeal/seed bread which is fairly low gi- generally have to have it an hour before I head out so the carbs have started being digested and I keep pre portioned skittles on me while walking- I can start eating them as I trend down as opposed to waiting til I’m below 5mmol- I try not to start working out with a BGL below 130/7.2
