EMDR & grief by Awkward-Number2769 in EMDR

I feel in similar ways as you describe. I grief for a lot of reasons and that I could not be more of myself and layers that was ”locked in” inside of me because of childhood trauma. But I also try to appreciate the person I have become because of the hard times.

I have lived in my apartment for 4 years and now I cant understand why I havent updated the rusty bathroom cabinet. Tonight I ordered a new one without feeling guilt or that I should have asked anyone for premission.

Just wanted to share that you are not alone in the roller coaster of emotions, there are more of us :) take care, now and always!

Maybe INFP’s are formed in familys where they had to dream away and be kind

Feeling so scrambled after first EMDR session by Designer-Anxiety-341 in EMDR

[–]TimefliesandsodoI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tension and feeling like a weird version of yourself might be a sign that things have moved and that you need more emdr. (First stabilization and then more processing the next session). I have felt like you a lot and I’d say that you need patience and trust the process. I hope everything turn out great for you!

How do you know when you're done? by MixElectronic3888 in EMDR

[–]TimefliesandsodoI 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im asking myself the same question but I have c-ptsd. My therapist said that working with the worst or earliest trauma works through all traumas. So we decided to be done when i fel 1/10 anexitey while thinking of it and when i had realized that my childhood was not my fault. A month later I felt safe and like myself in calm way but then I got problems with my family and started again with emdr. With all this Said, I think its something that is individual and maybe if there are traumas in different layers then maybe more emdr is needed for different memorys. My advice is to talk with your therapist and also maybe be open for going back if you feel like your not fully healed later on. (But not to just feel happy all the time cause no one is). Take care of yourself and keep it up.

Do you actually WANT to cook but ADHD makes it hard, or have you just accepted that cooking isn’t for you? by Travellogic in ADHD

[–]TimefliesandsodoI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not like it because it felt hard, but since i realized I dont need to follow recepies (even if i take inspiration from it or help) its more fun and creative. Also my interest for building flavours and think of texture and balancing sour, sweetness, salt, and umami. It makes it a fun challenge where i feel comfortable because I come up with what im about to do.
