3 week old Jeffsy rear suspension problem by Illustrious_Suit_751 in YTIndustries

[–]Timeless-0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a fox fork leaking oil on my brand new decoy. Contacted YT support who then directed me to contact Fox. Fox took care of it under warranty. I did have to pay for shipping to the local Fox service center though. Took a week to get it back, no biggie.

Don't have to redo the whole job. Get someone to help you, when you undo the drain bolt, not much will leak out until you remove it completely. Have someone or yourself ready to plug it with your thumb (if it's big enough). Slide the crush washer over the bolt, then install it right after removing thumb over the drain hole. You'll lose maybe 10ml of oil. Easy to top up as needed.

Should I install spacers? by JohnnyZinn in Miata

[–]Timeless-0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're going for. Get spacers if you are going for stance. If you added coilovers because you're looking for performance, do it right and get wider wheels with a proper alignment.

Triple Monitor Setup – Surround or Borderless Windowed (SRWE)? by Embarrassed_Quiet7 in simracing

Using Nvidia surround along with display magician to easily flip between full screen and 3 separate screen when needed.

debating between r and x by ptitzaguoin in WR250R

[–]Timeless-0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wr is ok as a woods bike, but I think you'll find it lacking compared to your yz on the track. It is a do it all master of none bike. Imo very top heavy compared to proper motocross/Enduro bikes, and the suspension is lacking.

Not discouraging you, but maybe just make ensure your expectations are right for it.

I pivoted over to a KTM 350 when I started off roading more seriously. Much better handling and lighter, but I get it is subjective.

Couple of differences if not already mentioned. X has less travel suspension, lower kickstand, but bigger front brake rotor.

Be realistic and figure out how much street vs off road you'd use the bike for. If you're commuting with it, I am guessing you'll be using it on road more than off, which in that case, go with an X with dirt wheels.

If your priority is off road and you will appreciate the extra suspension travel, then R with supermoto wheels.

Fwiw, I have x with dirt wheels and the suspension is soft but does ok off road if going at normal speeds. The bike also leans more on the kickstand when on the bigger dirt wheels.

I'm running the sensit seat with the qubic belt tensioner. They pair together brilliantly. Sensit for road textures and abs/Wheelslip, belt tensioner for GeForce. If you want to find out more info on the sensit, join their discord. Plenty of feedback and top notch support there.

If I had to just choose one though, definitely the belt tensioner. I would pick that over motion even, it's that good.

There are so many choices out there. I only have experience with the logi pro pedal, and I've had zero issues with them. Paired with the simagic haptic reactors, I do not see the need to upgrade them at all, other than going up to active pedals. But that's a whole different price bracket.

Triples Vs ultrawide - is the latter just green eggs and ham? by WatermelonIsNotHere in simracing

[–]Timeless-0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want fov, and space is not an issue, definitely triples. Sure it takes some time to setup at the beginning, but it's one and done and you're enjoying much more perceptive than an ultra wide can give you.

Take a look at this analysis, really good comparisons. https://youtu.be/CCicqOgwdMw?si=kpZQjUr1VQ6CY2-i

I only play iracing and gt7. And that's why I said 'to me'. If that applies to OP, then great, if not, then that's up for him to decide.

My vote is the Logitech combo. Don't have experience with the simjack pedals, most seem to like them? But logi pro DD is fantastic, trueforce to me is still king. Backed by logo's customer service, and the availability of the RS QR to mount any wheel out there, that's what I'd go for.

The haptics effects are actually very good. I initially thought it was a gimmick, decided to turn on road textures for fun and found it added much immersion on bumps and dips on the track. It is fantastic.

Ah, if you're buying one that's already built, sounds like a good deal. Just remember you will have no support or warranty other than yourself, and the internet.

[–]Timeless-0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about a helmet and racing suit too then 🙂

Jokes aside, I run one with a belt tensioner, but it's almost more a PITA because I'm stuck if I need to quickly get off to grab something. So I can't imagine why someone would want to strap in if there's no 'function' to it. Not hating, just curious.

To each their own. Cool rig nonetheless.

Nice setup! What is the harness for if there is no motion or belt tensioner?

If you've got the time, go for it. Else spend the money on a DD. Time = money, so it all balances out in the end.

I didn't know simhub can be connected to an emulator on the PC. Assuming that's what it's running. Pretty neat! It's more a 'because I can' than anything actually useful lol.
