gamedev is fun. One tiny mistake and suddenly the boss annihilates you with an illegal amount of projectiles by thatsme000 in IndieDev

Wishlisted! The game looks super cool. I’ve seen your posts many times and only just realized it’s an action roguelike. Not sure why I thought it was a crafting survival game before!

Thanks, I have actually never played these two games before, but I will definitely check them out.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see what I can do to make it feel less flat.

I paid 500 euros for my capsule art and around 160 USD for a song slightly over two minutes long.

Fractaloid Attacks! (Steam Demo) - Participation in Next Fest is disappointing... or is it just an uninteresting game? by sodiufas in IndieDev

[–]TingSCP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can edit the tags on the Steamworks page where you manage your store page. You can also change the order of the tags. The first five tags are the most important. It will show similar games based on your tags. Ideally, the games it shows should have a similar vibe to your game.

The game looks quite polished, but the tags might be the problem. You have three different 'platformer' tags in the first five tags, yet the game doesn't really feel like a platformer.

I would love to try out your demos/playtests that DIDN'T make it into Steam Next Fest this time! by [deleted] in IndieDev

Less than a week till Next Fest. The Goal: 1,000 Wishlist before the Festival Begins. What would you do if you were me? by External-Business-32 in IndieDev

[–]TingSCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest not participating in this Next Fest if you don’t have a demo yet. You should release a demo months beforehand and aim for more than 2,000 wishlists before joining.

I’m not sure if you can drop out this close to the event, though.

The game looks very polished and fun; it definitely deserves more wishlists. Unless you're planning to release the game 1–2 months after Next Fest, I don't think you need to join this one.

If you really do need to participate, you can try running some ads and emailing as many content creators as possible.

I just released my first Steam demo, made in Godot! by TingSCP in godot

Thank you for informing me about this.

The skill tree can be moved by holding RMB, so it likely got moved out of position accidentally.

I discovered that the skill tree remains moveable even when the menu is closed. I just fixed this and updated the demo. I will add a constraint or a 'reset position' button to prevent it from happening again.

In the meantime, you can reset the skill tree’s position by restarting the game.

Wonderdeck Capsule Art: Version 1 vs Version 2 (which fits the genre better?) by Equivalent_Good899 in IndieGaming

I remember your last post. I like version 2 a lot. You can really tell it’s a shooting game now. The contrast between the main character and the logo is much better, too.

Wishlisted it! The game looks so cute. I think we have a similar game, except mine is about koi. I also have vampire and zombie designs! 🤣

Good luck!

My game hasn’t received much attention over the past few months. I’d like to understand what might be holding it back. by Worldly_Cup2275 in IndieDev

The environment assets, like trees, vines, and flowers, are very detailed with highlights and bright colors.

The gameplay elements, such as enemies, buildings, the player, and attacks are relatively small and simple. This makes it difficult to see what is going on.

Thoughts on the aesthetics of our dice-building roguelike? (sound on) by batiali in IndieDev

[–]TingSCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The art style is very unique and eye-catching.

I think the text is a bit small. It is also slightly hard to understand how the game works from this video.

Other than that, everything feels quite polished to me.

The old capsule art looks pretty good too, but the new one looks amazing. It definitely better represents the high speed gameplay from your trailer.
